Wow - a few spy pics taken of Shawn Higbee doing some testing at Fontana (Fon-Tucky) last week... can't help but think that the coming 2009 season is going to be getting more and more interesting as the season(s) get closer! [img]

And you didn't tell me about this ahead of time Steve. I could have been there in 20 minutes! And while I am at it... It is no longer Fontana... or Fontycky as you refer to it. Keep in mind, my wife is from Kentucky and she don't take kindly to disparaging words about her home state. Anywho..it is California Speedway now, you know. Great pics! |

Actually your wrong Ozzie it has been known for the last year or two as Auto Club Speedway. Gotta love corporate advertising huh? At least until all the company sponsoring goes bankrupt! |

I didn't see ANY sponsor logos on Higbee's bike... OK now - rumors are gonna fly. Supposedly wasn't any Factory folks there??? He's privateering it? Just doing a track day for the helluvvit? Testing some hyper/mondo/ultra secret hardware? |

Steve: What'd your buddy Court say, following the XBRR debut at Daytona, when the world was banging the death knell of Buell Racing? You've been among the positive believers, I still say, as I did the day following the fateful Daytona 200, "Buell will be one of the Big 4" in motorcycle racing in 5 years. DNA |

Level 3, isn't that for beginners? I am sure Higbee would at least be fast enough for intermediate. |

Based on these photos . . . . . . my guess would be he's getting in a little seat time to keep himself fresh a month before the start of Moto-GT. Of course I'd like to think he's testing a 1200 cc engine, suspension, exhaust etc. that will introduced in time to get the 1195RR homologated prior to the start of AMA superbike season a month from now . . . . . . but frankly I think that's more wishful thinking than anything. Most likely he's getting in a little seat-time in preparation for Moto-GT |

You could show up at a track-day with a Ninja 250 and blow everybody away. . . . and when they start accusing you of having a bunch of special mods, hop on their bike and show them just how little of the performance they're really getting out of it. |

What'd your buddy Court say, following the XBRR debut at Daytona, when the world was banging the death knell of Buell Racing? Hey, I didn't bang on Buell Racing just on the XBRR platform. |

I don't have any other pics - those came into my inbox. That was a Fasttrack Riders track day, I believe. |

"Wouldn't it be great to have his skills just for a day?" Actually, I beat Shawn Higbee at VIR a few years back, so yeah, it was great! Of course, it wasn't exactly ON the track that we were racing. And I was on my 88" Buell while he was riding his pit bike, but who is picking nits. I remember telling him that I was going to tell everyone that I beat him, and he laughed out loud. He is a great guy! Best of luck to him this year, and to all those who will be making racing a lot more interesting for us by racing Buells. |
