Does anyone out there fancy having a black caliper on there '09? I'd gladly swap for a red one and pay your shipping if anyone's interested. PM for a quicker response if so. Thanks, Shane. |

why not just get red paint for calipers and be done with it? most local autoparts houses will have it |

I don't wanna have to worry about flake, chip or peeling. Powdercoating was another thought but that would be cost more and waiting several weeks for turn around would suck. |

Granted I only have about 1000mi. on mine, but I painted my red caliper flat black using one of the Rustolium paints (mostly silver can). Forgot which model. No bubbles from heat, no visible chips from rocks (yet). I painted it before its first street miles and I drive in a gravel truck laden freeway to work and back every day (though its been sitting lately!). All I did was remove it from the fork (but not off of the fork leg), hit it with some "brake clean" spray, let it dry, mask a few things and hit the button. Holding up well so far. Mike |

There is only one color of Black unlike the thousands of Whites. |

Actually I used to agree with you on only one "black". I had a customer that purchased an automotive component and it was plated Zn Chromate black. Just joking I ask him what color black he wanted? He said: "Just black." I gave him a "just black" component. Was he happy, yeah right!! It was too "warm" of a black! I wanted to shoot him right there. I kept my cool and ushered him into our shop with HID lights versus normal incandessiant lighting and pulled out another sample. He liked that one is was "just right". Yep, they were the same sample under totally different lighting. Later |

Well I don't want my "warm black" one!
Actually, if I could find some flourescent red paint that matched the other red accents on the bike I might go ahead and paint it.
