According to the website my closest dealer is participating. I'd be willing to bet a dollar to a doughnut that I would fill out the coupon and take it over just to have them tell me they weren't participating. Just like the times before. |

"3. Take the coupon into a participating dealer." Yeah, that's funny. Maybe I will see a participating dealer while in the Blackhawk tomorrow and can talk the pilot into sitting down for a couple of minutes. Sorry guys, sometimes it sucks here more than others. I'd not be negative. . . . I'd TEACH the dealer how to be good if I had to . . . I'd e-mail the coupon and ask them to let me know when a good time to pick up the gauge would be. . . . . . To be honest. . . complaining about what "might happen" on the internet is a loosing game in today's world. |

My Buell dealer, who is 15 miles away, is not a "participating dealer". Now, if I want a Buell air gauge, I will have to go about 100 miles away. Why aren't all Buell dealers participating in these promotions? Do the dealers have to pay for the items in these promotions? Of course, my Buell dealer has no Buell branded items to sell. None at all. One 1125 in the showroom, nothing else at all to indicate that Buell motorcycles are available there. |

Dealers pay up front, then are reimbursed by BMC for each coupon... |

I'll have to figure this out now. I used to be able to mail the coupon to the sales manager and she'd mail me the freebie, but since new owners canned most of management, I'm not sure how I'll obtain my swag. She'd always keep a couple of the April - June giveaways in her office for me too... |

When I got my bike new from the dealer, they included their own version of this exact tire gauge. They are mostly junk... Just an FYI |

Indeed it does look like Chinese dollar store junk, but trust me the spring demo promo is much nicer. |

demo promos are nice....IF you are capable of demoing the bikes in the dealership. Old story, but without my friends here on Badweb I would have missed out on some really good Buell schwag just because I can't shift any bike on the showroom floor without installing a power shifter on it and have gotten the stone-wall response "you only get that if you demo one of the new bikes, no demo; no goodies" from the dealership....when the dealer bothers to participate and doesn't give the goodies away to the Harley guys that is. But....Like I said I've been lucky enough to have my friends on Badweb take care of me in many cases so while I personally have had little reason to complain (other than the customer service issue) I know that there are still some issues involved in the distribution of these "incentives". My advice: ask around, call the dealers in question before making the trip and if you cannot find a local dealer that will work with you ask around here on Badweb via PM. Even if they want to help it can make it hard on a friend at a dealership if all of their time gets wrapped up sending stuff out (not to mention shipping costs). |

I just picked mine up after I was done with class. I agree, demo promos are super nice. I asked one of the sales people at Appleton HD/Buell when they are having their Buell Demos because I'd like to help out like years in the past. I was informed they are not having any Buell Demos at all this year. Really sucks... the last couple years, we didn't have enough hours in the day and enough bikes on the trailer to fit everyone in!! It was great! I'm pretty bummed about that. At least I have my free tire gauge to cuddle up with now... |

I'm curious to see how the NH dealership does. Formerly Meredith HD/Buell, now they are Laconia Harley. Other than the sign in the picture and links to the new bikes, I don't see any Buell logos there. They supposedly are participating, though...I'm anxious to see if they do the demo ride swag. |

WTF? This is the third promotion item, (Hat,hydration pac, and now the tire gauge)I have took the coupon, in each time. and the HD steelership here in Idaho says that Buell don't supply them with and promotional items? even though they just shut down one of there out lying locations and their main showroom is full of new Buells. They act like i dont exist. and try to avoid me. The thing that really pisses me off is, the XB12X is the most enjoyable bike i have had in the last 20years! it's just a shock to have a major HD dealer act this way, especially during the current economic conditions |

They might not participate in the programs. Some dealers don't because they have to pay upfront, but then get reimbursed when the coupons get turned in. |

What dealer? There is one about 2 hours away, I will wait until summertime ride over there, take a test ride and buy my own tire gauge. If I had one close by I would be there all the time, crap, I would even sweep the floors in the evening. |

The way the promos work is, Buell alerts dealers to the program. Dealers sign up to participate. It's not automatic just because they sell Buells. Dealers decide how many packs they want to be responsible for, and buy the packs. It is up to the dealer (i.e. the sales staff or whoever is handing out the promo items) to make sure there is one coupon for each missing item in the pack, or the dealer does not get reimbursed for those quantities. 25 gauges in = 25 coupons back to Buell. If there's only 20 coupons...the dealer just bought 5 gauges. Basically, we're the teenager, asking Daddy Buell for an allowance to buy gas so we can get to school. But, we have to show a gas receipt, or dad docks us for that money. It's a very reasonable, simple program...but there are some dealers who choose not to participate for some reason - be it staffing issues, back-office issues, or being simply unaware. If your dealer has a "Buell Guy", and they're not participating, give your coupon to the "Buell Guy" anyway. He can take it (and any others he may have gotten) to his manager, to help make the case for signing up for the next promo. "See? All these people came in asking for this promo and I had to tell 'em no...let's sign up for the next one so I can make it up to them" It can happen. I know. We've got three boxes of the gauges, sitting in my desk waiting for new homes. |
