My 2003 XB9R broke the drive belt at 12,000 miles. The idler pulley bearings felt tight so I replaced them with two from NAPA. Now with 4,000 miles on them they feel not so new. Has anyone found a high temperature bearing to alleviate this problem? Thanks, Buellgeek |

You might try ordering the same part numbered stock bearing from a bearing supplier. Was the NAPA part number supposed to be a direct replacement or a generic equivalent? |

Sparky- The NAPA piece is a universal bearing. It was found using the original for a part number and cross referenced. I am currently working on locating a more properly designed bearing. When I find it I shall post it here. The offering of greases, seal materials and internal clearances is many. |

Ok, now I need someone to share with me the original Buell part number to the idler pulley bearing. It should be on the seal surface. I have already discarded my old ones and have no way of finding out if the actual part number is available for public distribution. The local bearing distributor is happy to help me. I'm thinking any year from 2003-2008 should be good for the part #. Thanks so much. |

62031 AX30, NTN is printed on outside seal of right-side bearing on my second-hand '04 XB12R. What's ball-park price of new "wheel, idler pulley"? That wheel is G0614.02ABC, '04 XB9R/XB12R. (Message edited by aptbldr on January 30, 2009) |

Aptbldr- Thank you very much for the #. The replacement wheel and bearings is supposed to be $100. I don't see why it is not serviceable, the bearings push out with no problem. |
