The kit in the buell catalog (page 49 pdf)lists the Torx #40 as one of the included screw driver bits. The screw driver bits are listed as being used for the turn signals, tail lights, clutch adjustment, interactive muffler cable, and oil filter. |

I have used a T40 torx bit for removing the front rotor and the rear pulley sprocket IIRC. |

Stone Lake Leather Works makes some rolls. I don't own one but he makes top shelf stuff so I'm sure they're good...and expensive. |

I believe the front rotor/rear pulley bolts are T30, as I checked them before ejecting the T40 from my homemade kit. Ourdee - I will be going from memory here, so you should verify, but I just did this Saturday. Here is what I remember: 1.) Torx T27 to remove front sprocket cover, lower belt guard, and rear fender. 2.) All tools for rear wheel removal (22mm or 7/8" socket with stock toolkit double nut adapter for axle, plus hex wrenches or sockets for swingarm pinch bolt, brake caliper bolts) Cannot recall all the exact hex sizes, so just check it out on your bike. I carry all the hex sockets from 3/16 thru 3/8, and that should cover you. You can remove the RR wheel w/o removing the rear brake caliper, but it is easier to re-install with it removed. I also need a small hex wrench to help remove my DarkHorse Moto sliders. 3.) hex socket or wrench to remove right footpeg mount portion of the frame (3 bolts, don't recall size, but think 1/4"). I suppose you can do it without removing this, but it makes it possible to do the next part with a socket and torque wrench, instead of hex keys. If you have the Buell side bags frame, you will also need a socket/wrench (forget the size, maybe 7/16"?) to remove the nut that attached the frame to the right footpeg frame bracket. I left the rear brake cylinder attached to the frame bracket, and just held it out of the way with a bungee cord. 4.) hex socket/wrench to remove the swingarm brace bolts 5.) socket to remove the 2 tensioner pulley nuts (don't recall the size for sure, maybe 1/2" or 9/16"?), unless you think your belt is stretched enough to do the change w/o removing this. Putting on a new belt = remove the idler pulley, and it also helps to be able to compress the rear suspension during new belt install, to reduce the belt tension while fighting to put the tensioner pulley back on. That's what I recall at the moment. Please verify BEFORE you go riding off into the sunset! I am very glad I took Badweb advice, and did this in my garage for the first time, instead of by the side of the road. |

I'm going to light this thread up again as I get ready to head out next week. What Torx do I need? I have: All 200mm t-handles. I'd love to see someone's complete list. I'm really new to the entire XB thing. |
