this past autumn, i was in a collision with a small sedan. we were doing about 45mph and she stopped in the middle of the road for no reason. i tried to stop but i believe i had my front suspension set too soft and i stood it up on its front tire... so i tried to go around her while i was on the front wheel. needless to say, i hit her rear bumper on the passenger corner just before i came to a complete stop. so this collision was at a very low speed. my front left hand headlight lense, as you are sitting on the bike, was the impact point. i somehow managed to push myself off and land on my feet, looking around for my 1125 and traffic. my bike was lying behind me facing the opposite direction. the lady didnt speak a lick of english and i needed to get to work and didnt look like much damage, amoungst other reasons.... we decided to part ways. now im not looking for a lecture about reporting every accident even if theres agreement not to... back to the case in point. while i was at work, i was looking at my 1125 as it was sitting outside the open door from me and i noticed that it appeared the seat didnt fit correctly on that left side. so after further inspection, i noticed that the upermost mount on the left side, the cast frame was broke! now lastnight i finally dismantled my 1125. when i went to remove the other two bolts( the two lower ones) i noticed niether one was tight. so i tightend them to find out how loose they were. as it turned out, they were roughly 3/4 of a turn loose!!!!! also, one bolt was bent, assuming due to the impact. i am going to try and upload the pictures i have already taken, and i will try to take some more. also, if anyone has any suggestions on what to do about this damaged piece please let me know. i spoke with a welder about it and he felt confidant about being able to fix it but this was explaining it over the phone. also, does anyone think i should write a letter to buell? also, is this in any way the extent of the damage, the tail web frame is also twisted and a few welds broke. along with the plastics, the arm that the left passenger footpeg is on dented the swingarm... also, any other pictures that i can post to help, let me know. i guess the reason behind this post is to get feedback for me, for fixing my beloved 1125, and also to inform others that their tail frame may not be fastended tightly! i'm also wanting to know if i should contact Buell in this matter... thank you! | ||

hmm... well it appears i am in need of some help when it comes to posting pictures. i have been editing and re editing pictures to fit the size requirements for the posting, and it still wont let me post them. keeps saying too large even though they are now down to 69KB!! please help! | ||

Downsizing isn't too hard on Windoze computer If you have PAINT, you can select <image> then <stretch/skew> and then in <horizontal> and <vertical> you can put in 12% for each - the image will be resized to 12% of its original size. Then <file> <save> and give it a name. (12% was just a suggestion - but with some images I take with higher resolution jpg - that works pretty well for files that start at about 5MB. Works on any Win-doze computer... every one I've ever seen has Paint. | ||

well, i used the software that came with my camara... i changed the sizes from about 3MB down to about 69KB... according to the error messege thingy, my size should be fine, cuz it said they are too big, make sure they are 71kb or smaller... and mine are 69kb. hmmm... | ||

Size for an image is not just file size it is also image size. IIRC, BWB needs images that are 800x600 or smaller. If you still have issues send them to me at striperx3@yahoo.com and I'll fix them. Neil S. | ||

The same thing happened to my 25R when I low sided in October. The insurance company first totaled the bike because there was more damage a lot more. But after a closer look decided to repair the entire bike because the salvage was so low. I am pretty sure Buell will tell you to replace the entire section of the frame. Mine was completely replaced, old vin cut off and sent to Buell and stamped on the new frame. Buell's position is it is not safe to weld. I feel that 1 out of 3 tabs with a weld should be OK. I'd try welding it....IMO.... The rear sub frame i would think is bent also. Mine was cracked and bent in like 4 places. GOOD LUCK! | ||

i had to shrink them down to 350 x 2xx... so i will probably be sending them to you. thanx. wow! how much was the frame? i cant even imagine what that cost! the tail frame is alone $450! Royce | ||

same thing happened to me when i wrecked, however it was the top rear shock mount on the frame, and it was entirely replaced. I still have the old frame if anyones interested??.. Jake P.S.- the i also have all the black plastics(a little skuffed up), the right headlight housing, rear subframe, swingarm, rear wheel(slightyl bent) and, passenger peg brackets... | ||

YA, the majority of my plastics is destroyed as well, and my tail frame was twisted and a couple welds broke at the very end of it, but a couple buddies and i straightend it out the best we could. so that will have to get welded back up. Royce | ||

u could weld that no problem. Im always lookin to weld stuff. but itll probably be the end of me someday. carpenter by trade, suicide welder by night. | ||
