Zack How can a person tell if the turn signal unit is from the original run or the updated run? I have one that went dead and my dealer has it in stock.....but I would prefer an updated part. thx bob |

How close are you to the dealer? I would take whatever he has in stock, unless it is a real PITA to get to the dealer. The turn signal swap is extremely simple and should NOT require the bike to be checked in and left at the dealer. It's a parking lot thing. Also, if they have to order from BMC its a 7-10 day wait--you'll have to ride this duration without a working turn signal. |

20 miles each way...no big deal They take good care of me and will do this when I stop in tomorrow I was just curious about how to tell the difference When my 1st signal went out it was just before the newer version was available, dealer had zero stock so ordered mine and some for the shelf...so I don't know what I got last time hey, they're free for another year and if they die after that....aftermarket ones are reasonable (Message edited by bobup on January 30, 2009) |

I "think" they had a white stripe/band/other on them. That's from my admittedly faulty memory, so take it for what it's worth. |

"if they have to order from BMC its a 7-10 day wait" I wish, My dealer was to order my replacement in Dec 2008, still waiting, it's been over a month of riding in heavy traffic with no left signal. Most of turns on my daily commute being lefts it has been a real PITA. |

Man I'm glad somebody stepped in. I've had an integrated taillight/turn signals kit since last January. Junked the front signal/mirror set too. White Stripes... not a bad band. Z |

I always felt naked without my right signal, so I moved the left over temporarily until I got a replacement.} |

I can tell you for a fact that the updated version has a 1/2" wide white band around the wires close to the terminal end. the original does not my 1st replacement was from original stock and will probably die sometime this year....another trip to the dealer when that happens |
