Thought this was a good deal so passing it along. Toledo HD has a brand new 08 Uly with all three hard cases listed for $ 10K and change. Actually they have all their Buells at invoice. |

I just bought an 08 xb12xt at Gulf Coast in New Port Ritchie, outside of Tampa Fl for a bit less than 10k but not much. Fly down to get it tomorrow. Sad part is our dealer in my neck of the woods (CycleStop Harley Buell) in Rochester NY has a nice leftover black 08 xb12xt on the showroom. It is $ 1000.00 over sticker *plus shipping and setup*. So for $ 13995 plus about 450 bucks I could buy within 5 minutes from my house. My question to the salesperson about any discount was met with an attitude. I truly felt he thought I should be glad I was allowed to step into the showroom. Was also asked not to sit on it unless I was ready to put down a deposit. Sooooo.... Bought one online from the florida dealer having never even straddled it and saved over 4 grand , bought my wife and I tickets to Tampa , shipped my gear down UPS for a great 3 days of riding this weekend and after the flights etc. I will still have saved 3500 bucks. Plus as a bonus I get a great 1400 mile Adventure ride home to NY in about 8 weeks when I go back down and pick it up out of my inlaws garage in Tampa... Sure hope I like it!!!! |

Wait till he gets it back to NY. Roads suck now from that storm yesterday, it partly melted today and now is going to re-freeze. Although its worth all 27F degrees |

widow, congrats on the purchase. although i had purchased most of my bikes from the sister store in brandon, and had been treated fairly good by them. it's pretty apparent that cigar city motors(which they go by) is dropping the buell line at all three locations. and with your purchase of the xt which is great for you, it's not so good for us. enjoy your trip down here and watch out for the traffic. it can get really crazy around here. between superbowl, snowbirds, college kids and just the usual traffic snafu's. btw, what part of town do your inlaws live in. |

They are up in Homossasa, Sugarmill woods off 98. I'm not following you on me buying the Buell being bad for you guys though? Cigar City Motors is the parent company that holds the Harley franchise market area for Tampa ,correct? |

I'm not following you on me buying the Buell being bad for you guys though? If you can buy a new one for 10k, then what does that make the lightly used bikes worth? |

If you can buy a new one for 10k, then what does that make the lightly used bikes worth? If somebody buys that new one in NY for $13995 + what does it make the lightly used bike worth? Understand your point, but sometimes it's like real estate, location, location, location. |

Wow, I don't understand the price thing at all. I was at Brandon HD last week, owned by the same people and they have a used 09 XT they were asking 13,000 for. I commented that was the price for a new one and the salesman said that you saved shipping and setup by buying used. I said that didn't seem enough savings for a used bike and he said they would consider offers. I guess I am just not enough of a haggler to think they would come off 3-4,000 from asking on a bike, yet you bought a new one for that. I need you to negotiate my next bike purchase for me. |

hey widow, the only thing i mean by that is it pretty much confirms what another guy said about them going out of the buell business by letting a bike go for that much. but that's alright with me. that just means when i'm ready for a service, i'll just have to go up and see paul in gainesville. and hey, if i could have gotten mine for less, i would have jumped on it too. have a good flight and enjoy the weekend. |

If you can buy a new one for 10k, then what does that make the lightly used bikes worth? My 08 12X is worth about $20K to me. Any takers??? |

Well yes I got a deal and yes it may irk some , but after riding it across Florida yesterday , all I can say is "you can have my Ulysses when you pry it from my cold dead hands". This is the first of 37 bikes I have owned that I can't even write a review on. Having never even swung a leg over a Buell until yesterday afternoon when I picked it up in Tampa, I can say that this bike "IS" the bike of bikes , the God of Motorcycles and everything I have EVER wanted in a bike. Nuff said. Time to ride again. (Message edited by widowmaker2011 on January 31, 2009) |

I totally agree Widowmaker! Your only problem is, now that you have had a taste, you will not want to be without it until April! I get moody when I go more than a week without riding my Uly. Trust me...it's not pretty! |

Widowmaker, So now your $10k bike is worth $20k, right? Now you know how it feels. These things seem to appreciate in value after you buy them. |

I rode my $25,000.00 08XT today for the first time in about a month. It hit 32 degrees out. Opened it up on a lonely stretch of road and it was cookin'. Bike got dirtier than City's. I paid full price but your good fortune doesn't make me mad. I got to ride mine in September. I do more living in 5 minutes of Buell riding than most do in a lifetime. 5 months on the XT for 4 grand. It was worth it. How many months in a Viper or a Vette do you get for 4 grand? |

it just "irks" me that they didn't "get it" about buells and certainly not about the incredible deal that you got. (maybe a little jealous though) i didn't get that great of a deal, but they did give me a good deal on mine. if i had the extra cash right now to splurge on another bike, i would try and get the cr that the brandon store has for as little as possible if they were unloading them. |

The "deal" was only half of it , the customer service I received from Gulf Coast was so far above anyones expectations I can't even explain it. From the constant contact from the salesman Bryan York (who called again today to make sure I was still enjoying the Uly, to the General Manager Larry who made it his mission to find me before I left and Thank me 3 times for the business , to the business office guy Dale who without me even asking , had all the affidavits ready for me for the title company to register the bike in NY for me without me even lifting a finger , to the free shirts (including a pair for my inlaws who were just hanging around in the showroom, to the service manager who had remapped the computer to get rid of the low end surge without me asking...) etc etc etc...120 miles into my "adventure" and the bike is now worth $ 46000... And one ride note , the thing is really wheelie happy with two people on it. I rode out of the dealership delivery bay with my wife on the back and all 120 miles has been 2 up , I haven't ridden solo yet.... but it floats the front wheel with 2 people way easy , maybe toooo easy... Ok we fly out tomorrow afternoon , gotta get some sleep so I can ride a quick 100 in the am before I have to put it away for a couple months.... glad to see you had a good experience from them. my daughter used to work at the brandon store before she moved up to wisconsin to be with her boyfriend that she met at the store. and although you can't make everyone happy, if there was a problem with anything, most of the time they would try to make it right. and i do know how you feel about the xt. it is a great bike. |

Man second thread in a row I have read with people getting great prices on a Uly. I paid 14k for mine through military car sales and couldn't be happier. When I get back to the states I can't wait to see what kind of deal I am gonnna get on a CityX for the wife. |

Anyone interested in a new Buell might contact Dave Bigley at Cowboy H-D/Buell in Austin. He gave my friend in Colorado a great deal on an '09 Uly. No BS, and they actually have Buell riders that are employees. |
