i think detune is the wrong work for it. Shifting the power band down or flating it out would be a better discription. |

that's the whole idea of 2 versions, the x and xt. 2 different purposes. one street only, one adventure sport riding. each require different wheels and different engine characteristics. just put the original tall seat on the xt if it isn't tall enough. i think the x was designed more for multi use than just for tall people. i like the comfortable ergos of the x too but would rather it be more dirt worthy as i take mine off road enough to want the different wheels. it's the most multi purpose bike i've ever owned, been riding since '63, and use it for touring, sport riding, track days, and exploring dirt roads. i bought it new in '06 and am still in love with it. |

Chad, ever ride a late model Aprilia Tuono. I just bought one. Holy Shit! A full sized superbike with no fairing and motocross bars. A bull of bike. That's why I got the CR! That style of bike is the most fun you can have with your clothes on! R} |

I have not ridden a Tuono, but I've pawed on one and sat on it. It has a VERY tight seat to peg distance that makes it not very comfortable for my 36" inseam. When the Ulysses gets old, and I'm ready to sell 'er.....right now, I'd probably jump ship to a Tiger or Multistrada. Don't know about the Tiger, since I've never ridden one, but the Multistrada is a wonderful bike with absolutely NO pretentions of being an offroad bike. |

I for one like this photo of the mock up of an Ugly, but in one of our Aussie mags last week there was an article of the 1125 getting a make over at the factory,Erik is looking to reposition the radiator/s to the rear of the bike above the rear wheel, similar to what Benelli to I have been told,in an area of low pressure that draws more air over the fins for greater cooling, which no doubt in turn will make the front scoops obsolete, can't wait for the next mock up on those idea's. |

Mark: Who else has hard bags? I've yet to see picts of the ones Teach is proposing. I do, silly - remember, the whole quick-detach thing??? From sportbike to sport tourer in less than 3 seconds. Hard, lockable, waterproof storage is the hot ticket... What is Teach proposing? This is the first I'm hearing of it... |

I am not much in BWB because of much work. Not sure if you´ve seen that. Maybe Mothership dont think a watercooled Ulysses is needed, or it would be a Buell branded Cagiva.... http://www.visordown.com/news/article.asp?UAN=6206 &v=1 |

XL: So you just ditched the mirrors altogether? As of now, yes. I can count on one finger the number of times I made a maneuver using only a mirror for rearward visibility, and there was another bike in my blind spot. I ALWAYS turn my head, usually so much that I have to let go of one grip. Let's face it, the mirrors on the bike don't show you anything you woudln't see by just turning your head, so if you have to turn and look anyways, why bother having them. That said, I would put something on there if I ever find something I would want to have on there - so far, no luck. Even a bar-end looks goofy to me on this bike. |
