I am purchasing a 14.5" shock from a fellow member so I need the mount to go with it since I have the 16.5" version. Does anyone have pictures of both mounts or know how to tell them apart? I don't want to waste my money on the wrong mount! Thanks! |

Here's a picture that I copied from an old thread showing the difference in the two mounts.
The late mount is for the short 14.x" shock and the early mount is for the long 16.x" shock. |

OK Buell parts manual. 2000-2001 M2 & M2L. Page 55 #7 Bracket K0407.8h 2000-M2. Page 57 #9 Bracket K0407.01A1 2001-M2. The later brkt. has an extra bolt hole but looks the same. The shock on the 2001 M2 and M2L have different numbers. Anymore questions and I will look it up. |

Oh and also I think if you have a good early shock and use the late bracket it should lower the rear end |
