DAve, Would you plan on meeting me near Hampton and Arsenal. There is a state run facility near there you may want to check into soon. CAUSE THAT DAMN COLOR COMBO WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY! And you will get dizzy too, if you stare at it too long. Don't you know that a nice calm color is better for you.

Is there a trend in St. Louis about trading in our AMERICAN made Buells? Will you guys be changing the name to SLAFB? St. Louis Area Formerly Buell Owners? |

Hell, I'd settle for a Japanese made Buell if it was a sport touring scoot...Now there's an idea...Let me go talk to Mr. Honda...Oh, wait, that's kinda tough... Richie...Get used to it as you're going to see a lot more of the same...When Josh signs on here and introduces us to his new FJR you'll know it's the end of the world as we know it... Well DAve, now that you know how we REALLY feel when do we get to ride it?...See, I always felt that I really didn't know Brian well enough to crash his bike but you're a totally different story... Did everyone get the word that Jenn is not fighting Wednesday night...I guess all the fire persons (PC!) are way too big...So John is not going to Guns and Hoses and I have an extra FREE ticket...We will get to see Jenn there just not with gloves on... See Ya! Bob |

>When Josh signs on here and introduces us to his new FJR Unless something happens to Shadowfax that nets me a large sum of money: no new bikes for at least a year. At which point we'll probably be trading the Blast for an XB12L.... Give me 2 years (at least) to replace the S3 and by then it'll probably be a whole new ballgame for sport-touring. Josh |

I'm still kinda sorta wondering if anyone in the St. Louis area is gonna get rid of an ugly ass S3T with a bunch of miles on it, hint...hint... DAve, Congratulations on the new "baby", hehe. I kinda like the jungle camoflauge there.... Looks like something out of "Jurrasic Park" HAHAHAHAHA Frank |

Hmmm, I've been through 3 Buells now and really haven't had woes...a leaky rocker box gasket once and a leaky fork seal--but I think that was from letting the bike sit too long without exercise...and really, I think the S3's have been mostly reliable--well, except for the Pumpkin muffler packing incident. In the words of John Burns..."I will have a Buell".

Yea, the Pumkin muffler packing incident will defenitely be stored in my "Hard drive" As far as woes go, I haven't had any...well a stuck front brake, but that was under an extreme use situation. It was fine once it cooled down enough I'm not afraid of Buells, hehe. I can fix anything that goes wrong Frank |

DAve was kind enough to point me to some of his pictures, SO I GRABBED ALL I COULD! filled in the hole for the missing Billet S1W here: then created a page with some more: but ya know, I can't help thinking of the phrase 'I'm melting, I'm melting' when I look at this pic: Though I'm sure it will be great when you get to Haines and head North. See Ya! Bob |

Lost another muffler from the S3. Yesterday on the way to my parents the 5" Trapp parted ways. That's 3 mufflers (WestTek twice, Trapp once) off the S3 in 45,000miles. Stopped and went back but never found it!? Don't know if it went off into the weeds or someone stopped before I did. Anyone got a race muffler they want to get rid of? S3T: Down; no muffler, sticking front brake (needs flushed, just got a 60ml syringe from Henrik - weekend project plus swap muffler from S1) S1: Down; cracked engine case (thanks Ted's), leaking fork seal, leaking base gasket RS: semi-Down; broken exhaust mount (knew it when I bought it, shouldn't ride it but I have) Blast: Up; but no 'Lectric adapter for Widder gear. |

Were you guys herding bulls with the Buells that day? hehe. Josh, You ought to be able to pick one of those mufflers up at yer local "Farm implement store" ...they kind of look like something that came off of a John Deere, don't ya think? I kind of like that...tractor parts, for my tractor motorcycle......heehee Frank |

It wasn't just the cows...Take a good look at that road and scenery...And we had just come off a road about which John said he ran the longest ever at tripple digits...Huge sweepers...The Cherohala Skyway without the elevation, tourist turnoffs, guardrails and speed marked turns...And unbelievably engineered and maintained thanks to Doe Run (a lead mining company)...As soon as you turn onto this road you're thinking "What the hell is this doing here in the middle of nowhere?"...All of you in the KCMOB consider yourselves invited over here next year when the weather is nice (May?)...We'll either put you up in our homes or we can all stay in a cheap motel in Salem and we'll show you what we ride every weekend...It was funny because again we started out with six riders and they attrited, one by one...Suddenly you would hear "what's the most direct way home from here?...Or "what's the fastest way back to the interstate?" and you'd know another was dropping...At about the 200 mile mark one got his AirHawk out of the saddle bag...I've gotta hand it to Sam, Frank and Kevin L as they've put in long days with John and I...By the way, Kevin, John really, really wants to flog the duck on the "fast" road mentioned above...So no excuses, except for you Illini folks who have already ridden 75 miles before meeting us...Let's do it in May... See Ya! Bob |
