First Buell to ever circle Daytona . . . . well, in the day of the "new" Buell Motorcycle Company. |

Here Barney is today after the resurrection. I had a red 97 S1 that I stripped bare and did a top end and replaced anything that didn't look new. It took about 2 years because of work, etc. and she has been together for about 2 years. I bought the original Barney bodywork off Ebay about 5 years ago. Today I switch between the Burple and the Snap Red. 7 screws and a fuel line and presto. I have another set of bodywork I'm going to paint Flat Black. Sorry about the crappy phone pics.

Yeah the pics aren't too bad but when I have to shrink them too much they degrade. I will see if I can get some better ones and post them online. |

Shoot the pics to me, XAT does a GRAND job of keeping the res while reducing the file size. Or, just go get a freebe copy of Xat ! |

By kt do you mean kooks? |

No, kooks was a different pipe. KT pipes were only made for a brief period of time and are quite rare. |

I used xat but I guess the pics aren't the best to begin with. I think they were WAY to big to start with 2 megapixle from a phone. I will have to take some more with a real camera and post. The tank is off right now, had a little petcock leak and switching to buell race bars I got from a member. That is a KT pipe. Good call Phelan. It is the street version/midrange and they made a race version that has larger primaries/top end. Good power and great sound. It rusted pretty bad and I sent it to JetHott. They did such a great job I sent them the frame when I had the motor out. It is ceramic, not chrome. The only chrome part on the bike is the carb top and a few hose-clamps. When I had the motor out I polished triple trees, rear brake carrier and anything else I could. |

Can't be worth more than $100. I'm feeling generous so I'll offer you $125 for it . |

I had the frame done a few years ago but it was only $225 or $230 including the kickstand. It might be more today, and maybe they gave me a deal because I did the exhaust just before that. I sanded off the stickers and had a brace welded in on the left front like the X1s have. I think you can also get it clear coated and I would check that out if I was to do it again. Most powdercoaters have silver like this. It looks like aluminum and cleans up with aluminum polish. Slc4me...I my rear clamp is broken on the KT and I would love to get the dimensions so I could have one made. It looks like a pretty standard clamp but I don't know. Any chance I could pay you to help me find a replacement? I think if someone made these pipes for tubers today, they would sell. |
