Author Message   Scottorious Posted on Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 10:29 pm:        has anyone ever seriously looked at an S1 and removed a significant amount of weight?...if so what did you take off...anybody know the difference in weight between the s1 stock wheels and the xb wheels and if they can be interchanged. also has anyone ever cut down those giant "wings" on the side of the seat of an S1.   Capital_g Posted on Friday, January 23, 2009 - 07:48 am:        I'm interested to see the responses too.. I used to be into air-cooled 911 Porsches and increasing engine performance was really expensive so everybody tries to lighten them to increase the "go". When I rebuilt mine I removed everything that wasn't necessary. "INFO" is 50 year old information being recycled to you ... Something to think about: Engine oil: Weight of engine oil minus the weight of container, subtract the weight of one QUART and that is how much weight if you save if you only run 1qt. of oil for 1/4 or 1/8 miles drag strip(DO NOT DO THIS ON THE STREET !!!) ... FUEL: You only need enough for staging and to get you to the end of the drag strip(your PIT CREW can bring you back) ...
