Oops - looks like thread went into auto-archive again. Got some pics and a bit of a story but for now - a few pics: Pit pics, in-the-showroom at Antelope Valley Buell... there's gonna be more pics coming but I gotta do some more writing after 4 races this weekend AND being able to put the bike on display without fixing anything!! Managed one 6th place... a bit rusty but it's been a year and a half. Gonna be a slow come-back. |

Very cool! So the new litre bikes make around 80 ft/lbs at the wheel? I always hear horsepower numbers with those bikes, but never anything about torque. |

This is the old, air-cooled XB9 - bored out to 1169cc. With engine mods, it measures 78 ftxlb torque at about 7800RPM - peak torque and HP numbers are kind of iffy since last dyno run was on old, hard tires and there were signs that it was slipping on the dyno wheel. |

My bad, I was referring to your comparison on the previous page where you mentioned wheel hp for import litre bikes. You said your torque numbers compared favorably with them. |

Yep - those 78-ish numbers were from a litrebike comparison test series run by Roadracing World a couple months ago - Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki. |

Few more pics from last race weekend. I'll move over to the Racing section for further race stories and stuff - but will keep the discussions on the suspension and engine work alive for those who are interested - because the bike/engine IS streetable as it is constructed. All I can say is that it felt danged great to be back out... AND to not have borrowed any money to do it (and that's why it took a year-and-a-half!!!)
