hey Dave, VERY cool to see your name pop up on here! do you remember that the piece i did on your Sporty was THE first stuff of mine that Reg ever published? what happened to ME? i saw the (sun)light. dude, it was in the 80's here today. i'm still having to water my lawn and flowers (the Bougainvillea by the front door is looking ESPECIALLY gorgeous this year), and people were wandering around today with that "Gee, isn't this a marvelous Spring we're having!" look in their eyes. plus, i've got tight-assed twisty roads -- over 10,000' mountain passes, thru giant Sequoia forests, alongside roaring "Wild and Scenic" rivers, and across haunting, desolate deserts -- in almost every direction. THAT'S what happened to me. drop me a line at SBUSA1@aol.com, k? i'm gonna be away for a bit... ride to lean, FB ps: you are about one of the craziest mo-fo's i've ever met! (and you know i mean that in the NICEST way!!! ) |

OK, for my axle nut covers and chrome heal guards comments, I'd like to apologize to those that have them. For they do have their place, like the detailing Donn put into his bike: If I had the space for his S1W, I'd be bidding on it. Still unsure about the guards, but they might go with a polished frame: Randy did ask Erik about polishing the frame, to which he said it's probably not a good idea. Speaking of Randy, José scanned some of Randy's pictures from Deal's Gap and we're pulling a page together of his adventure that we'll post soon. Steve(2) |

I got this link from a friend and it is pretty cool. It is a little long for a video (2:08) but well worth it. Check out this awesome online video of the 2002 MotoGP season. http://images.motograndprix.com/multimedia/166/166240.wmv |

Ferris , Oh do I understand your priorities concerning your children!I myself have 3 boys and Ive come to realize every day of my life that children teach me more than I ever have taught them.That... maturity is understanding and using this and when our children are gone or grown that a massive chunk of our hearts leave with them.As it should be!Obviously I started before you did since my youngest is now 24.(oh yeah , Im probably a bit older then you too!Im extremely lucky ,however, that 2 of my sons live close and visit me often and so I get to live some through their eyes too.Not that Ive ever ACTUALLY grown up but thats My story and Im stickin' to it! Oh , and why is it whenever I offer up a bike I get the feeling I need to call my Insurance agent and increase my coverage??I think it was Court that started that feeling! Ride like the Wind and absorb every nuance....and stay safe for those little ones. |

Ferris, I dont blame ya for wanting out of the web foot zone. Hummmm, Iam not sure the land of the fruits and nuts would have been my first choice though. Boy, a lot of shit has happened since the last time we talked. The sporty got featured in Hot X L, I think they even used one of your pic's. My son owns it now. He has took up were I left off, Streched tank, wild paint, hemi heads, etc. I got a Softail now. It had nitrous on it, but the wife made me take it off. Oh ya, Iam married now. Give me a buzz at 800-234-hogs. Later Dude! |

>>>By the way, nice pic Court !! You are ALWAYS smiling !! I always try. . . call it the Aaron Wilson "follow the light" theory. I'd acutally come to town to meet TK, shoot some special downtown, SoHo and pictures for a decidedly "non-motorcycle piece of personal introspection prose" and ended up mermerized, drawn to and taking time to stop, cry and remember. Sometimes we smile for fun, other times because we are so lucky. I'd suggest the reason is less important than the smile. I'm blessed with thousands and was reminded, in my quest this morning, of how disproportionaltly I've been showered with the gift of friendship, love and life. I'll not bore you with the entire photoessay, here are two to allow you a glimpes into Gotham today...... Court |

Court, I'm sure you've seen the movie "How To Murder Your Wife." Was interesting to see the first couple floors of WTC going up just outside the door of Jack Lemmon's bachelor pad. Perhaps I'll get the chance to see it go up the 2nd time around. PS-I've been dreaming of Virna Lisi ever since! |

Court just pinged me in response to something I asked him and said 'Watch this, it will be really funny...' then proceded with a description of his NYC position and intention. So I am waiting to see what he posts here. Anyhow, it ought to be good, I have a new nickname for Court.... O Holiest of Elves.... Maybe the Holy One has a bad connection ??? Ah well....

I remember a time, a long time ago, probably 3 years or so ago, when I set a up a S.C.A.B. ride. The fellows were supposed to ride the Crest and meet us at Cajon Pass. Well, the Dr. showed up(first time I met him!) and Ferris showed up(first time I met him!) from our side. No one else showed. Found out later everyone from the LA side got stopped in the middle 'cause of a winter snow. Ferris, the Doc, and I spent all day running up and down those roads(Lone Pine and on). Ferris on the S2, the Doc on the S3, and I on my M2. Most wonderful day. Ferris finally got tired of my Michelin Race tires throwin' rocks at him, and passed me like I was standin' still. I can keep them both in sight, but they are really fast. I miss all you guys! Looks as if I am probably going to be moving down to the San Jose area this coming July for a couple years. It's a little closer! |

It is great to see how hard Buell is trying and listening to writers and owners. I was at a dealer today and noticed how they changed the exhaust outlet on the XB9S and XB9R so it won’t "put put" (as the writers put it) on your foot. It is a small item but it shows they are committed to turning out the best they can. |

I think I'm going to puke. Why did they design it that way in the first place? I mean they released pictures (meaning they had pre production bikes) eighteen months before they released the bikes. WTF are they worried about the "put put" at this stage of the game for. Triumph and Harley Davidson have been building bikes for over 100 years now, why are we worried about where the exhaust gasses go at this stage of the game? Wouldn't you think that things like that would have been long sense figured out? I've said before and I'll say again: If HD had as many engineers as they do lawyers.......... |

Congrats Jason, It's going to be torture waiting to ride your new 'Bolt. I know, I brought mine home on a trailer because I had a broken leg at the time. I had to wait almost two weeks before I was well enough to ride it. Talk about itching to ride. I hope you get a good thaw soon. Just take your time with the break-in and don't get too anxious. Have fun!!! Timbo |

The biggest thing I hear from the tests of XB's is about the clutch pull. Waaahh. They should sell 'em with those finger exercisers for those weak winers. ...and like the exhaust hitting yer ankle is gonna hurt something. Big deal. Makes me sick. |

Quote: I think I'm going to puke. Be careful Ray I think Rick is feeling ill. Nice remarks but I still think it is a good thing in the right direction. On a low volume production bike or any bike car etc any change can cost a manufacture a ton of money possibly even affecting certification. Just a thought, sorry for making you sick, it was just an observation. Tim |

Greetings to all ya'll Buell fans. Yes, it's me... drSteve... and I'm STILL down here in SoCal (hanging out with Don Savage-Teen-Ho Ok, so it's like really late and we're tired and we have to get up early tomorrow so that Don can buy his lovely wife a new Blast! That having been said - I'll get to the point so's we can go to sleep. For all you pussies that couldn't make it to Palomar last week, it was suggested that I make it known that I am still in the area and am again practicing recreational vaginacology. Oh yeah, we're gonna do some more riding on Sunday in and around the San Bernardino/San Gabriel mountains region. I can't express how much fun I had last week and can only hope to see some of you out this way on Sunday! S.Lee-Z.: Dude, we'll hook up once i get back up North. EBear: Let's rock again! ...if not, I hope to ride with you and Fireman Jim after Turkey-Day. Ferris: Please ask Fearless if you can come out and play with us for just a half-day! Gotta sleep! drSteve (who the !@#$ is THAT?) |

... ... "put-put"? A friend of mine rode my race kitted S3 and said he liked the way the exhaust "humped his leg". haha Perhaps if the XB9_ platform is "put-put" it'll be a good leg humping when it is Nallinized or when Buell releases the XB12_ series.... DAve |
