Over on the IMS thread, Lazylion saidSome summer weekend we should set up a Dino-trifecta and hit one each day of a three day weekend. Or all three in one day! Terri and I have been discussing this and it seems that it might be a fun way to spend a long weekend. I think that it would be better to hit all three a day apart; rather than try to hit all three the same day. That way we could get to see more of upperstate New York. It's a big state, and I've seen some pretty nice roads there (mostly around the eastern part of the state). I know there are some fantastic roads that I haven't encountered yet throughout the central and western regions. Here's what we're thinking: Start off in New York City on a Friday evening; say, around 5:00. then head north for a couple of hours and find a motel. Get up early and make our way to Syracuse for Dinner on Saturday. Sunday, we could wander around, ending up at the Dinosaur in Rochester. then we could make our way home on Monday. I know that there are a lot of Buell owners in New York who could advise us about what routes to take, or where good, inexpensive motels are, etc. Also we could ride as a group, or just meet at the different Dinos if people don't like group riding. Would anybody else be interested in doing this? |

Crusty, you might want to re-think trying to get out of Manhattan on a Friday night in summer. |

Try the Finger Lakes area. - Head North/South along the shores of Lakes Cayuga, Seneca or Keuka. Say down 14 & up 414 but there are a lot of good secondary roads. Get some place to stay & do the Wine Trail. Cruise thru Finger Lakes National Forest. If you head this way send me a PM. |
