Anybody experience a sticky throttle when the bars are turned to the left ? Example: The bike is on the side stand warming up, bars turned all the way left. You go to give it a little gas and the throttle stay where you put it when you remove your hand. I know in most riding situations you don't turn your bars all the way left but there are those times in tight spacing at low speed were you do, especially in the city. | ||

This shouldn't happen. Try adjusting your throttle return cable, and the throttle should snap back to zero no matter what the steering position. Check full left, full right and center with the engine off. Throttle must snap back in each of these. (Message edited by Pariah on January 17, 2009) | ||

Mine did that just after I changed the grips. Try loosening the housing for the right hand grip and rotating it a bit back and forth while the throttle is stuck. it will reach a point where it will let go, and snap back. Next chance I get, I'm going to take it apart and lube the cables throughly. heh, heh, Lube my Cable, heh, heh..... Haven't experienced any driveablilty problems, but I am concerned about wear on the lining, etc. Good luck! Rob | ||

follow the cables from the housing and the cable closes to the front is the return theres a lock nut and adjuster. play with it some and itll wipe that throttle into shape. | ||

Happens on my Cityx and the 1125r as well. Never noticed an issue on the road. I don't really worry about it. | ||

WORRY ABOUT IT!!!!! this is throttle control we are talking about here. something is binding in cable path. adjustments, pinching, etc. Check it out all the way to the throttle bodies themselves. If it is only happening with the bars turned left, it almost has to be cable related. Good luck, but if you don't find it... get it to a professional. T | ||

Check the grips first. Any time I trailer my bike the grips get stretched and rub against the bar ends causing a sticking throttle. | ||

It only happens at full lock to the left. How much time do you spend at full lock left? Any certainly the speeds are less than life threatening at full lock. Yes it is a cable related issue. | ||

Took the front light assembly off and turned left..... the throttle snapped back like it is supposed to. Put the front assembly back on and turned left and the throttle sticks. seems as though the cable is being mis shaped when turned left to the point were the inner cable gets tight. | ||

Pariah you were right, the return adjust was the problem. I was adjusting the wrong one before. Problem fixed and solved. |
