Also have a spot here in the Stormfronts section: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 80418.html? And there is the MCHooligans page: http://www.mchooligans.com/ |

Yea I look at them both, honestly haven't looked at the stormfront page in a while but there seems to be little to no activity on there, and the hooligans seem to have one ride coordinator so they aren't that often - I'm not bashing on either, I'm really just trying to find all the buellers that aren't aware of this board, and I think a lot of them around here are younger (like myself), so trying to reach out on that level |

07xb12ss, never thought about it until now but a discussion board on MCHooligans' site would be beneficial. I personally don't know what it would take to implement a discussion board so my suggestion may not be very feasible, but it would be a nice addition. |

yea it would, i just want to meet other buellers around, look at their bikes, get ideas from them, get advice from them, get riding tips and tricks - its one thing to get advice online but even better in person - you can go out and learn first hand - or just go grab some drinks or eat or whatever |

I think he painted it again, and now it's blue. Lucky SOB works @ a body shop, so it seems like he changes colors on his bike like I chane my socks! |

Yea, after my credit card recoups from the bike upgrades (still waiting on drummer) I am thinking of painting my bike a flat or matte charcoal-ish color, I think it will look mean, I got the idea from that 1.5 million dollar lambo, looks sick, and has a lot of crazy body lines, like the CR What do you guys think? |

Im going to stick with this color for a while or until I scratch it, the paint was hard to come by. If you want to do yours in a flat color let me know, super easy for me to do. |

Myspace is irritating to me. Way too frenetic and commercialized for my taste. I prefer simple. And I've never been able to figure out how to get that "Tom" person removed from my "friends" list. He's not my friend, I don't even know the guy. "I'm really just trying to find all the buellers that aren't aware of this board." I can be a little dense sometimes, but if someone sees your DFW Bueller myspace forum advertisement here, then don't you figure that they are already aware of "this board." You might try instead posting your ad to general motorcycle forums. Saying that you are looking for other DFW Buellers but then that you "honestly haven't looked at the stormfront page in a while" seems contradictory. I'm not "bashing" you, just really trying to make a sliver of sense from what you posted. Myspace is great... if you dig relentless advertising and popups. At least here, all the ads are by fellow Buell enthusiasts and there's no popups. If you'd like to suggest improvements to the DFW forum page/pages, please do. We'd appreciate that very much. But please avoid advertising for myspace here. Thanks. I figure if someone is looking for a DFW Buell discussion board, they might give google a try. |

P_squared, Thanks for speaking up for the TNT DFW Buellers forum here in the Storm Fronts. There's an easy to remember address that links to your DFW Buell forum here... www.BadWeatherBikers.com/TNT

Kevyn, Don't mind Blake, every once in a while he comes out of his hibernation and sets a few new "rule changes" and goes back to his engineering.... You really got to meet the man to understand if he is knocking on you or if he is just supplying some of his sage wisdom. When I first came to badweb as an eager young bueller, Blake stepped all over my toes due to the relentless problems I was posting up about my M2 and he interpreted my frustration as bashing of his beloved model. He called my mechanical skills into question, played on my frustration with sarcasm and even encouraged me to read/search the knowledge section of this forum before posting for help. I really thought I joined the wrong place for a few days until ReepnCheep, I think came to my rescue. The knowledge available here from the inmates far outweigh and grief you may take. After meeting him in person at Up In Smoke in Keller, TX during a non sponsored Buell gathering, I had a whole new take on the Gent. Blake and I got along great and I “GoT” his personality and wit. With all that said, there used to be a large contingency of Bueller’s in the DFW area. We were handled by Chris Robbins at HD of Dallas in Allen. A employee of HD of Dallas named Bret worked with Chris to get a local BRAG chapter going out of that shop and we started to grow pretty rapidly. On more than a few occasions we had upwards of 10-14 Buells running the back roads North and South of DFW. Chris started working with riders of the group to hold positions within the BRAG chapter of which Paul (Cowtown) held one. We had some really neat gatherings, one of which was at the Up In Smoke in Keller. There we got to meet, drink and eat with Erik Buell, Henry Duga and the Elves. It was the second time I believe Chris and a few of the core members had met and ate with Erik. During the next few months a few members decided spirited back road riding wasn’t for them and began doing Track days (Dago, Cowtown, DerikM). Shortly after the BRAG org was disbanded by Buell and Chris lost interest in the Buell. He decided to turn over the documentation and efforts of running the group to the chapter. I specifically asked for all the material and logos so we could restart the group and rebuild our numbers. I unfortunately had to take a few consulting jobs out of state and quickly lost touch with the members. In the mean time, we had the TNT logo added to the DFW Buellers stormfront page and continued some failed attempts as some rides and get togethers. This last summer I found the MCHooligans and their site. I went on a few rides with them and to “call it how it is” they were true Hooligans. I went on two rides with the core members (5 riders) and we always kept it in the red with front tires lofted in the air bikes crossing the yellows in the corners. The riding style was way more aggressive then I wanted be a part of although at the time I did partake of the hooligan antics. We did a group ride out of Motopia Café off of 75 and Fitzhughe with over 15 bikes and by a third of the way through the ride we had two buellers down off the road and I almost ate a 1125r with the Uly. I decided I would concentrate on the touring aspect of the Uly and if I ever saw a get together with DFW Buellers I would attend for the socializing side of it. So lately, I haven’t been on any rides with any of the Hooligans and have spent all my time attending the Badweb events like March Badness and Buelltoberfest. I do plan on attending Homecoming sometime in the future; I just haven’t had the opportunity to make there yet. So now you know the rest of the story. Good luck and I hope you have better luck in breathing some life back into the DFW Buellers. btw, you can get some decent pick up rides out of Motopia Cafe on the weekends if you don't mind riding with all sorts of bikes. Micah, It would be nice if someone took over the reins now that Chris is pursuing other interests. That's for any group, not just the TNT. One of the reasons we came up with Thunderbikes of North Texas was to allow for subchapters, such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Mid Cities, Ect. I guess we were dreaming large. I still do plenty of back road rides but they tend to be spur of the moment 2 up rides with the wife. The Buell Inside Trackdays are great. I spend most of the time riding the demo bikes. Last September the demo rides were perty much unsupervised, unless you asked for some instruction. Sounds like the MC group need to visit the track. When you learn to ride fast you tend to slow down. I've gotten to the point where I don't trust any payment on public roads. (Message edited by cowtown on January 16, 2009) |

"taking the post down would have been sufficient if you feel that way" You run your board or group or whatever it is as you see fit, we'll--I'm not the only custodian here--run BadWeB as we see fit. "i apologize for trying to connect myspacers with badwebers " No appology for that is necessary. The place to do that would be on myspace.com not here. Most BadWeBrs know of myspace. The converse is not likely true. But that was not the issue that irked me. You stated before, that "I'm really just trying to find all the buellers that aren't aware of this board" Again, the place to do that would be elsewhere than on BadWeB. My sense was that you came to BadWeB, ignored the DFW Buell forum here, soliting folks to join your new DFW Bueller myspace group. I'm home sick today and am very irritable, more than usual. But again, if there is something you'd like to suggest to improve the TNT - DFW Buell Discussion Board here, please let me know. |

Mostly back road 2 up rides with the wife. Our church has some rides and she enjoys riding with them. The bike has been in torn down since Thanksgiving. I bought a wrecked 2007 with 600 miles and I'm replacing the engine, swingarm, wheels, brakes and suspension on my 2004. |

I don't think Kevyn was trying to pull anyone away from BadWeB! I'm good friends with Kevyn. His reasons on doing this myspace thing was simply to get more of the younger crowd onto BadWeB. MANY MANY young folks spend HOURS on myspace, blowing time! His theory was simple and made since to me when he said he wanted to start the DFW Bueller profile...... Thousands of folks are on myspace (I personally don't care for it too much, but MANY other folks like it) He wanted to have it set up so anyone who searched for Buell related materials on myspace could find the DFW Buellers page, and off that page he was going to have a huge link for BadWeB. His main goal from the get go, was to have anyone who searched myspace for Buell to eventually be lead to BadWeB. By having some folks from here signing into the myspace thing, someone who did search myspace and found his page, would be more likely to check it out. Versus clicking on it and seeing no one saying anything and quickly leaving that page, which might mean they never will find BadWeB.... His intentions with this were good. He wasnt trying to have anyone branch off BadWeB or leave, but trying to bring more to BadWeB. Personally I commend his efforts to bring more to the BadWeB community, even if others don't see what he had planned. Just my viewings from behind the curtain... Keep it safe everyone! -Robert |
