We got a call about 5:30 yesterday morning that my father-in-law passed away. He'd been having some heart problems lately... congestive heart failure that was causing him to stay tired and retain fluids. The doctors have been trying to get his medication straightened out for two months, but he wasn't having any luck with them. Too little too late, I guess. Apparently he got up to use the bathroom early yesterday morning and either passed out from low blood pressure or had a full blown heart attack, and when he fell he hit his head on the edge of the toilet. They decided not to do an autopsy since ultimately his heart problems were to blame anyway. By now he's been cremated, and we'll be burying his ashes in a national cemetery when the weather warms up a bit. My wife was a wreck all day yesterday, and I'll admit, I wasn't much better. Hell, I'm still getting misty eyed just typing this. But we're doing a little better today. Anyway, Sam was the one who got me interested in Buells in the first place, and he's the one that bought me my Ss. As cheezy as I've always considered those "In memory" window decals, I suddenly find that I want one for my bike. It just seems appropriate now. So, I made my own. He'd probably think it was goofy (being the hardass that he was), but I never payed attention to his "style" advice before, so no point in starting now.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I've seen a little too much of that lately- first, my mom passed suddenly just before Thanksgiving. Second, a beloved sales manager at work- Perry Ogle- lost his fight with cancer just this past Friday. Let's all make the most of our ride around this marvelous spinning marble. Godspeed Sam, Perry, and Mommy. |

Thanks a lot guys, that means a lot. Sam was a really cool guy. Everyone in his family, including his wife, thinks he was the model for Red Foreman on "That 70's Show". They even looked similar (though Sam was probably a head shorter). Dude was obsessed about maintaining and cleaning his vehicles, and was all about road trips. Funny thing, we always talked about it, but we never actually went on a ride together. He and my mother-in-law have helped us out a lot over the past 7 years. I'll seriously miss that smart-assed sunnovagun. ~SM |

Swords - our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Sounds like Sam was a great man who touched many lives. The decal is nice. If you can't find someone local to make them for you, drop me a line. The company who printed our C3, Matt Ware and Big Jim decals will print as many or as few as you want, any size. |

My condolences. Instead of a window decal, how about a patch you can put on your gear, like what was done for Matt? You can buy a few and they won't fade/get destroyed like a decal would. Just a though. |

Cliff, Very sorry for your loss. This WILL be hard on your wife for some time. The pain will pop up at the oddest times. All you have to do is be there for her. Condolences to you, your wife and the rest of the family. Brad |
