I will do it. I will order the 2009 injectors today and report back. I'm in san diego and if my dealer won't do it, I'll order the service manual and do it myself. Anyone interested in helping in the SD area, PM me. If this isn't sorted by Aug 30, 2009 @ IMS, I'm crashing my bike into the Buell exhibit. |

I'm planning on installing the 09 injectors once I get the bike back from the dealer. I really don't like the sound of fuel pooling on the valves due to the 08 injectors. I also get lots of carbon buildup on the intake valves and wonder if the 09 injectors may reduce that also. |

When i did the denoid, I notice some carbon buildup on the intake valves. The bike only had around 2000 miles and I thought it was very strange. I took a picture of them. When I get home I'll post it. |

Luise, post the carbon buildup pic please. Just thought I'd share Hey Jason I talked to the service department (I recently was moved over to run the Parts Department), and they said it would be no problem. I don't know if re-flashing it would take care of the new injectors, as the VIN would still reflect an 08 model bike with original injectors & headers. Your best bet would be to dyno tune the bike, which we can do for you as well. Give Tim or Anthony a call at the Service Desk, 732-381-2400, ext 33 and they can set everything up for ya.} |

The bike still runs so I guess it was not a complete waste of money. Its so cold here that I can't really ride it at this time. I'm waiting for some of the ice on the road to clear and am trying to find out if there is different flow rates of the injectors and how much if there is. |

How much did the new injectors run you Chevy? Were they a plug and play? |

The injectors were a direct replacement, and were very easy to change. The bad part was the $127 each! I would not recommend the swap until I can see how it effects the way it runs. Buell says that the 09 map is needed as well. I just don't know yet if they claim that to keep it emissions compliant. I'm still trying to find flow rates on the two. It seems a little richer but its hard to tell without riding it. |

If it is running a little richer, it will be interesting to see if the stock ecu will dial it back. Thanks for keeping us informed! R |

Wow Chevy, You rock! what is/are the part numbers for the '09 injectors? Also, do you think any of our sponsors sell them for a discount? |

I'll try to post the part # later tonight if nobody beats me to it. Again Lets wait and see how they work on my bike before you guys possibly waste your money too. The bad thing is I'm in Michigan and it may be a while before I will be able to ride the bike |

wow Zac and Chevy, i took pictures of mine while i have it dismantled trying to figure out how to fix it. i peaked down the throttle bodies and wasnt happy... i had alot of buildup for only 6k miles! but compared to your guys' mines spotless! lol mine just has a black gewy looking ring around the edges of the valves. saw my valves during valve adjustment and they were really clean other than a slight ring around the outside. tech said it was a good thing that they all looked identical. Maybe some techron can clean em up? PS--the valves were within .001 Don't be surprised if the valve check interval is lengthened. I guess the V-Rod had that happen. |

Fresno try using some seafoam to clean the valves up |

Another fuel cleaner that works good is Chevron with techron. I recommend it on those GM 3.1L engines that the injectors become slightly plugged and cause a miss. I was told by a GM engineer that its really close to their upper engine cleaner that the dealers use in the pressurized fuel injection cleaning. |
