This thing started off as a rolling chassis acquired from another Badwebber--
I needed it because I bought FMJ's hot-rod motor for my S2, and I had this spare motor just laying around the shop. Fun project--there's still lots of finishing to do and it remains to be seen whether anybody really needs two S1's or not but, hey, it keeps me out of the bars... Big thanks to Al at American Sport Bike and to Fireman Jim Higgins for lots of pieces! rt |

Didn't really have to adjust much--it all lined up OK except for the front link, which I had to adjust less than 1/4". rt |

Thanks, gents... I plan to get it titled then ride it for a while until I get it sorted out. I have yet to put a machine together that didn't have some "teething issues" so I'm not in a big hurry to make this one shiny. In fact, I'm thinking I may paint it flat black. Would that make this the first "S1 BL"? rt |

>>>>Would that make this the first "S1 BL"? Second. Karen Davidson has the first . . . but I like your's much better and it would be a blast to spend a year (you can do the cosmetics next time the refrigerator gets floated out of the pond) on a total ratted out S1. Earthy |

My bikes are all kind of earthy--I live a mile and a half down a gravel road!

Thanks, Jodie--not as nice as yours, though! Hugie--I think it's a 27/55 set-up. rt |

That is just heaps better than an old motor laying around to trip over all the time. The only thing wrong with having two is that means you have two more than I do. Glad you were able to get it together and looking good! Rotzaruck! |

So that's the old motor from your S2? How does it run compared to your other S1? Jay P.S. Now I have to come visit and beg a ride on it. P.P.S. I miss you. Sorry we didn't see y'all at the Harvest Classic. You gotta come camp with us at the next one! You know you're roughing it when a fellow HellBuelly brings his espresso machine and a super-quiet Honda generator to power it (along with his air mattress pump and his electric blanket!) P.P.P.S. Did I tell you I got a cherry '97 S1 with 1800 miles? |

Hi, Jay! I don't think this one's gonna be as quick as #1--there's a lot of hot rod stuff in that one. rt P.S. Do that--you can check on the progress on Casa Grande. We're here every Friday thru Monday, even have internet now--I'm so 21st Century! P.P.S. Same here. I looked for you at Luckenbach, but the place was packed. Shoulda followed my nose to the espresso! P.P.P.S. No, how about a picture? P.P.P.P.S. Are you running that solo seat on your S2? |

Wow! 27/55... What do you think the top end on that bike is going to be??? I'd say 155mph+. COOL!!! |

Hugie--I mis-remembered. It's 25/53. Don't know what the top end will be, I doubt it'll pull 140. I'll probably never know. rt |
