That Ducati, like a very few women I've "known", don't look so great naked. Sometimes leaving something to the imagination is better than the reality. In fact I would say that Ducati is ugly as sin. |

Anybody we know? This morning's AM news clip: http://www.wsmv.com/video/18231577/index.html IMHO kinda rough treatment even if he didn't stop right away. Me thinks somebody may be reprimanded and some damages repaired. I have been passed by motorcyclists doing (IMHO) stupid stuff and often thought that I might be caught up in the old "guilt by association" mentality. So far I have just been able to watch them get pulled over while I rode calmly by but...... one never knows. Don't think I'll be riding in Tenn. any time soon. If the cops pull over the first bike they come to during a chase and bully the rider to the ground, without knowing it's the same rider(s) or bike...well I don't wanna go there! |

There has been some follow up on this "stop". 1) The rider's story was backed up by the "cager's" story. 2) The rider was issued a ticket but not arrested. 3) The rider is a "mature" individual (50ish and silver haired). 4) He is actively pursuing litigation against the officer and the THP. As far as riding/ not riding in TN, this happens in other states, this one just happened to get recorded and released to the public. Oh yeah, happy new year and I'm going riding, in TN ;+} Neil S. |

Wow. Even if it was the right bike, why tackle him? He had his hands up, and wasn't struggling. Something tells me there's a law suit coming. |

Where was it they threw down tack strips to stop a M/C? Yeah, IMHO there was NO reason to strong arm that rider, period. But I was not there and don't know the whole picture. More2Follow |

I hope he sues the crap out of the THP and then donates the money to some charity. Some people do not need to be in law enforcement for obvious reasons. |

Rick: I feel the same way if the "stories" pan out the way the rider and concerned citizen had detailed it. Either way, it sure looked to me like the rider had given the universal sign (hands up) that he was waiting for further instruction before he did anything else. TIme will tell. |

Check out some of the videos on youtube of the things they have been doing to riders on Deals Gap. I usually make a spring and fall trip there but not this past year because of all their crazy antics. |

I have a moto maneuvering question. I still don't get the way the board is laid out. So please excuse if this is posted incorrectly. For the record.. I'm riding a 2008 City X. I have been trying to hone my maneuvering skill. Recently took an msf experienced rider course.. found that I could use some practice.. so I have been. My subdivision is vacant, so one of the things I've been doing is a slalom between the dashed lines in the middle of the road. There's the dash then a little reflector bump then a dash.. about 5 feet away from each other.. I can do it at about 25 mph comfortably. But a couple times I thought I heard (more than felt) the front tire skid when the bike was unloading to change direction. Is there a danger of this (other than debris on the road) am I doing something wrong? As it stands, I try to keep a bit of throttle and drag the rear brake. But to keep up sustained slalom, I don't hold much throttle at all. Thanks for any suggestions. -ben |

Ben, post that in the Quick board section, it will get more traffic. In the mean time, check your tire pressure and if you haven't yet, setup the suspension on your bike according to the settings in the manual. Night and day difference. |

thanks ... I'm set up well. There's a good chance it was just a couple spots of gravel.. But I'm new to "sport bikes" the steering is SO light at low speeds I feel I could over turn. off to quick board. |

I'm new to Atlanta! I am curious if there are any buell groups that meet up and ride. I looked in the storm fronts but didn't know what club it was! Riding by myself sucks!!!! |

Erik Buell will be at Cycle Connection Harley-Davidson/Buell in Joplin, MO on March 20, 2009. There will be a VIP meet and greet with Erik at 5pm, and then he will speak about the Trilogy of Tech at 7pm. Cycle Connection will also be doing free demo rides, along with free dyno readings from 11am - 4pm. The biker with the greatest horsepower will receive a GREAT ICON prize! Cycle Connection's stunt team "Ill Conduct" will perform at 4pm and 6pm. Sounds like an event worth checking out! |

A follow, from 09Dec08, up on the rider that was literally strong armed off his M/C. New Video: http://www.wsmv.com/video/18694679/index.html (Original Video) http://www.wsmv.com/video/18231577/index.html He had his day in court (Even though the TN Public Safety Commission stated that the TN Trooper was in the wrong, even though two witnesses testified the Trooper had the wrong Motorcyclist, even though the Trooper will be suspended for 5 days) and all charges were dismissed. The Trooper was reprimanded for his actions. The two witnesses that testified were both at the trial even though one had to travel all the way from Atlanta. My hat is off to the Rider for keeping his cool and to the John Q. Public for standing up when they saw something wrong. FWIW, the Rider is a Professional Truck Driver and would have lost his livelyhood if he was convicted. I just bet there will be a civil suite, at least for damages, against the Trooper. One of the few instances where the motorcycle community comes out on top, when the truth was told. Later Neil S. |

Does anyone know it Buell made 2000 X1Lightning just for racing? I ran a vin #and it did not come as a harley or Buell. Vin 4MZSS11JOY 3201810 I double checked the number on the frame and the decal. The guy that has it said it was just for racing and it did have a racing module in it. Thanks Barry |
