I purchased what was called a pre-production system from Jason at HR1 for $510+$12 Shipping on 10/8/08. When I got it it didn't remotely fit. I called Jason and he asked me to take photos and email them ASAP, because his tech's leave at 5, so he could see what the issue was. I wait 20 minutes and I do not get a call back so I phone him because it's almost 5pm. It turns out, said Jason, that I was shipped some R&D system and not a pre-production system. So on 10/11/08 I spend $17 dollars to send it all back and he tells me for $100 more I could wait a couple of weeks for the production part which will be perfect. Two weeks later I asked him to refund my card because the new pipe is still not finished. He tried to get me to wait again, for a couple of more weeks and I said I would rather not pay interest on my money when I don't have the pipe. He agreed to make the refund. A week later I still did not get the credit to my card or a return call from Jason after two messages so I filed a dispute with my CC company. This week, 1/5/09, they finally agreed to the refund, 2 months after the fact and minus the $12 shipping fee. So I'm out $29 dollars for nothing.
Thanks for sharing. Now, if I were you I would save that $600 and wait for the Drummer to be completed. Oh, and you won't have to worry about the pipe not fitting and/or poor customer service.
I have already bought the Jardine. I am very happy with the fit and finish. This post was to serve as a warning to others not to trust Hard Rock Motorsports. Pre-Production should not mean pure crap. I wont loose sleep over the $29 but had Jason been more honest and accommodating for my major inconvenience I would'nt be left with such a bad taste for his company. It's horrible customer service to make your customer pay for your mistake. Not to mention he gave me 3 bad delivery dates and charged my card 3 weeks before shipping!
I am sorry 2 hear about your bad experience also. I have the HR1 Riot pipe on my bike and I luv it. My only issue wit HardRock was that the pipe was shipped out a week later than originally quoted, and they 4got 2 ship the installation hardware with the pipe when it did come. But they overnited the missing hardware so, that problem was quickly solved. Its a nice pipe if u ask me... I cant believe they were so unprofessional wit u. I would probley feel the same way had they handled my business the way they handled yours. Enjoy your Jardine Pipe...
I modded my original with a 3"inch tip and am happy with it for now.
The hard rock pipe really looks to me to be a fabrication nightmare.I think it would wiegh more than others too.I hope the drummer will be a clean piece.
