I found a 2000 X1 on craigs for 4300. It chrome and a corbin seat, looks to be in pretty good shape. Can anyone give me an idea if 4300 is too much? Thanks

you need more details like how many miles, is it garage kept. If you want to check out the used bike value guide go to MCnews.com This is Motorcycle Consumer news Mag. They have a used bike value guide on the front page of the web-site. I think the 2000 X1's market value is 3, and some change. I know the PM wheels are about 1,000 I have them on my X1. K |

If you own it and ride it, it is worth far more than that. The market, however, is not so generous and the average selling price for a model of this year is about 3k-3.5k. If you have the money to spend and find that this is the one for you DO IT by all means and enjoy the ride of your life! |

I just paid 5k for a 00 X1. It was from a dealership, had 13k miles on it though. It also had some mods done to it. I test rode one that had been laid down and needed a lot of work and he wanted 3k for it. After I rode the first one I went straight over to the HD dealer and looked at this one just to see how bad the first one really was. The dealer was asking 8k for it and I felt that 5 was fair. I felt like I got a good deal. The thing that I have found with cars/bikes is that it is really hard to say what they are actually worth. Sure some people price stuff WAY to high but there are some things that kbb will list that you cannot possibly find for that price. Ride it, if it stirs you the way mine did me then buy it!! |

Last summer I paid $3,700 for a 1999 x1, showroom condition; people think it is a new bike. It had 3,400 miles, Crossroads rearsets and bars, a case of synthetic oil, all manuals, a matching Vansen leather jacket, all SS lines, and a few other Carbon Fiber doodads. The guy had 7 other bikes, I think he was just bored with it. I think I got a great deal. (Message edited by capital_g on January 06, 2009) (Message edited by capital_g on January 06, 2009) |

Yeah Capital I would say you got a great deal too! Mine had a forcewinder, race ecm, force exhaust, pm wheels, americansportbike c/f undertail, carbon accents on the tank, and a few little things. I added all of it up and he put a couple grand into it. Stuff I would have wanted to do anyways. I priced it and it was "worth" around 4500 so I figured I got a good deal. The dealer I bought it off of is notorious for not dealing with costumers. A few years back, when I just got home from Iraq with a wad of money in my pocket I couldn't decide on a softail standard or springer. They actually told me that until I knew what fxstd, fxtd, fxdrs or whatever the hell all the acronyms are that I should not come back. When I explained to them that I just couldn't decide on which of the two I wanted they told me "Look kid, unless you have at least 15k in your bank account then there is no need to even look"!!! Nevermind I had it in my pocket! Oh well, I bought a truck instead and they were the one with this bike a few years later. I thought I did alright with the Nazi's there in talking them down 3k! Same old trick my Dad tought me, walk in with cash, lay it down and tell them that's it! |

Billberg - I rode a Harley before the Buell, most of the people at the dealerships were jerks (even where I bought the bike), and I have been in a lot of different dealers... You have a great looking bike, I have a picture of it saved in a folder from when I was going to paint my bike flat black. I have since decided to keep it yellow though. |

In July of '07 I paid $5500 for my 2000 X1. It had 10k miles, and was stock other than a race ecm and Vance & Hines pipe. It's been worth every penny too. I just bought a 2002 X1 as well. After some engine work I'll be swapping plastics and selling my 2000 and WILL NOT be willing to take $3500. That being said, $4300 sounds like a decent price if the bike has less than 20k miles and has been well maintained. |

capitol- thanks, I honestly fell in love with this thing when I first saw it, I was kinda hoping that the ride would sway me away as I couldn't afford the sticker price. The ride clinched it though! Now the only thing is to do some stuff on my own, feel kinda weird riding it when someone else did all the work! I have put the Tuono mirrors on it and am now in the process of getting it back into shape after my little lay-down |

Nic, One thing about the X1 every where you go people will notice it. The sound isn't matched with any other bike. I've had my X1 since 2000 and I have over 30,000 miles on it. The XB Buell riders who just came into the Buell family always wished they had one or have plans to get one! You could probably talk the seller down or have him throw in whatever old Buell stuff he has. The old Buell stuff people are hanging onto! Capitol walked away with a great deal! K |

That bike looks very clean. I would offer $4000 if the mileage was @10k and the inherent Buell problems were taken care of (example...rocker gaskets) |

To each his own. If the guy likes it and has the money, it's his call. Some guys like little boobies, and some guys like big butts, it's all a matter of perspective. If you want it Bluzz, jump on it or watch it go to someone who wants it more. |

Nicholas Nice looking bike, rear seems to be down a little. Check the shock might be bad, not a problem to get replaced but should effect the price. Joe |

Bryan, your bike does look great but I personally would have not paid a penny to anyone who treated their customers like that. I would have laughed at the guy when he said $8K for the bike... There is a brand new (literally) X1 here in the For Sale section for $6K. Go figure. |

kalali, it was actually kind of crazy, they had a 08 firebolt there for 8k too!! And were asking 8.5k for 1125r's!! If I could have spent 8k I probably would have went for one of them but I couldn't and honestly I am glad because I love this bike!! As far as the one in the for sale section, that's my luck, I have learned to live with it. Like I said though honestly if I would have bought the other bike from the private owner then I would have had to put more money into it overall then what I paid for this one so I figure I came out alright |

It also depends on the part of the country you are from. Some places everything used is worth more and some less. As a collector of different things unless it is the internet and you can get a good deal on things, I have found prices vary wildly. I got a 2000 M2 7000 miles with extra mods in Shrewsbury Pa (in the middle of nowwhere) for $2700. In my area the Philly burbs area I have seen these bikes on CL for $4300 and sell. Go figure. |

I have that same bike, I powdercoated the subframe and frame, the sub matches the bike and the frame I took blue explosion, PM wheels, billet guage holder, it had the original Borla exhaust that are famous for being roadkill and it happened to me as well so I switched to the Vance and Hines..anyway, I paid $1500 bucks for it. If anyone by the way would have been as rude to me as they were to you in a dealership, I would've have pulled out the dough waived it under their pompous noses and went where my "money" was good. That was just terrible. Anyway that blue and white X1 has always been my favorite, I love mine, as much as my XB for sure. |

My dealer still has a COUPLE brand new X1 models with NO miles.TRouble is,they still want sticker for them $4300 would depend on how much you wanted the bike.Is it worth it to YOU? Anything less than that and i'd find MY X1 cheaper as a keeper. |

I can't even put a dollar number on my X1. After the time and effort I've put into it, I'm sure precious body parts would have to be in the deal. |
