Has anyone fliped the stock CR handlebars backwards & upside down to get more height & setback? |

Might work, but you'd probably need the longer lines, and that is 90% of the swap. the bars are cheap... R |

If you are talking about the clubman bars your hands would have to be backwards in order for you to ride with the bars flipped. |

Just ordered the longer lines this AM. I took everything apart & flipped the bars and I think they will work out pretty good. |

you'll probably only need to drill new holes for the control mounting pins. |

Buellhusker said backwards and upsidedown. In. My mind that would make the bars sweep back and tilt upwards. None the less that's why I want to see the pics. Maybe it's a good move. |

Or go with Convertibars. Gives you complete flexability. That is what sold me on them. Look here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/354781.html Time2Run |

Jmr - I'm not sure if you are referring to your previous post but if you are, I don't think it sounded A$$hole-ish. I'm just trying to understand the replacement of the bars. Now that I look at the post it seems as though Buellhusker is NOT placing the bars backwards but up side down only. Backwards would make for a F&*ked up hand position not to mention not being able to steer the bike. I would still like to see the up side down flip if possible as well as know what Buellhuskers thoughts are on the riding position. |

Here ya go:
Nice work, I still "lean" towards the Convertibars for their adjustability to get that perfect custom fit. Later Neil S. |

Meh, they look like ape hangers. Find me some forward controls and a sissy bar to match and I might be able to be won over, but I doubt it. |

I had a guy asking me about putting 16" Apes on a V-Rod, yesterday. Back on topic,, I like them flipped. Looks like a bat-wing. I'm sure that would be very comfortable for some, not all. Z |

Buellhusker, that looks great!. I want a CR, so Were all the cables long enough for the flip? Did you have to reroute any? And on a side note you win the best use of pods award! Towel warmers! |

I think he is just celebrating the win over the Buckeyes last night by by the Longhorns. If those aren't Hook'em Horns then I don't know what is.

My guess is when you button the headlight and fairing on, you won't notice them that much. |

Buellborn No the throttle cables were not long enough nor were the brake & clutch lines so I have the longer ones on order & I hope they will be long enough if not I will have to fab some up I guess. I am not worried about the clutch & brake lines but I am a little worried about the new longer throttle cables still not being long enough, we will see shortly I hope although it is still a little cold around here in the mid US. |

Interesting! How much increase in height do you get? Looks like the angle is fairly similar to stock just higher. |

That looks like quite a bit higher, and about as far back at the optional bars. Looks good! Have you ridden it yet? Rob |

I did not measure what the stock position was but I am guessing that I have raised the grips 3 to 4 inches and it also moves them back 4 to 5 inches so i now have a more upright position, However I would like to have the grips a little flatter than the down droop as they are now, but I will go with this setup for since its better for me than the stock position. Somehow my mid point hinge has gotten thicker as I have aged and does not bend as easly as before. |

Dave, I get a pretty good view to the rear with the mirrors, I think better now than when in the stock position, as my arms are not as much in the way (fat arms). |
