Was at worst 30 degrees to the line of travel, never quite made it to sideways. Yeah, but Kristi & I were 30° from line of travel in front of you. You know it's amazing how certain expressions are widely understood. "OH Shite" is one of them. The instant I look at you in the mirror I knew I had to get out of the way. |

Seems you were as excited as I was , glad you gave me that extra bit of room.Looking back I think being in the center of the lane may have "helped" the tire break lose."OH Shite" was definitely on my mind.Hope our next ride is as exciting, for better reasons of course. |

Hey Carlos, that story sounds sort of familiar, just without the rain...didnt really need that help that day. Maybe you should stay behind all the other C3's. On another Note, I figured my life wasn't complicated enough so I tried to park my exploder in the back of a Suburban. Some knucklehead stopped in the middle of the road at the end of a bridge. I thought I had plenty of following distance, but I was wrong. My Brother listened to what happened and then told me that my brakes might have malfunctioned as I told him I felt them skidding and then acceleration before we hit. He said I had 12-15 feet of skid marks and then another 25 feet to my truck. So now I have to figure out another vehicle, so that puts any motorcycle on hold for at least another year. But no one was hurt seriously so I am happy about that. Ride safe out there...I may be behind you... |

Sorry to hear it Larry. Never fun to be in an accident and then have to go through the insurance claims to get your replacement ride. U4euh - I told you I felt lucky Saturday. Let me know how you want to get your portion of the winnings. Hey Tim, how about a side view of the new Uly rake. I'm interesting how the swap changed the ride of the bike. |

Congrats to Mike and Sarah!!! I can still remember bringing our first son home on a Christmas day some 28 years ago. Dang, I'm good. Got the sideboard back together in one piece. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still had to separate almost every piece and re-glue with clamps. Got it done over two days with around nine hours of time. It's solid as a rock now. The front edge of the top received almost all of the road rash, but I was able to turn the top around, and reverse the damage so it will not be seen. I'll strip and refinish it come springtime with min-wax golden oak and Formby's tung oil with #0000 steel wool. It's gonna look great. Pat's very pleased that it's back in one piece, and safely home this trip. Happy New Year to you all!!! Kristi, would you be interested in a smoke shield for your CL-14? Don't need mine anymore. |

Mike, we had the polar bear ride today. Kristi and I just rode around 240 miles up around the VA/NC boarder and back. The winds were tough today. You know the winds are a bit rough when you pass a Fire Station with their 25 knot flag standing straight out down the road you are going then top a hill top and the noise in the helmet goes deafly quiet. I looked down and we were going 55mph and felt zero wind. Later on the ride we going down into a wooded section and see limbs falling from the trees. A little further down the road a limb just missed us. At stop lights it was a challenge to keep the bike up and signs were waving back and forth. Decided to call it a day early and we just got home. Twig - Kristi says she would love a tinted visor. She says she does not have to see. |

I know there are some here who have or have had a Firebolt, so hopefully someone will be able to answer my question. Well, that is, if you have some experience with the American Sport Bike mirror extenders. How the heck do those things attach to the front fairing and bracket and the mirrors? TIA, 1313 BTW, I'm back in nice warm NC... |

From a museum in Illinois:
From Hal's: 1. Pearl Yellow '08 1125R
The color reminded me a lot of the pearl yellow on the 1995 S2's, which my camera unfortunately did not capture all that well...
2. WTF V-Rod
3. Screaming reduction in price on a XBRR
And finish it off with an 'Ayyyy'!
And that was my Winter vacation back home... 1313 |

Santa Claus tried to kill me on Devil's Racetrack. Interesting intro no. Unfortunately true, well at least it was a gray bearded jolly inattentively soul in a F150. Mark, John and I were riding back from Smithfield and we decided to ride back home via Devil Racetrack Rd. We were at a portion of the road where there were two longish straight sections with on slight left turn in the middle. As I get to the turn I see an F150 coming the other way crossing the double yellow line. I quickly realize that the man driving the truck is looking down and is missing the turn he is entering. I realize I am going to beat the truck to the turn so I speed up. I get to the truck and steer between it and the white line. As we pass I blow the horn. I was in the lead so I wanted to get the guy back on his side of the road before he met up with Mark & John. I scare the man to attention and he yanks the wheel and truck back into his lane. Why do people do such stupid things. Santa owes me next Christmas. Cool pics Brankin. I personally have a soft spot for Yellow motorcycles and that 1125R is cool. |

Amanda and I went to Wilmington on Saturday. I took her down to the waterfront to walk around. There were a lot of bikes out. I spotted one with an underslung muffler, which I assumed to be a Buell. After a few more seconds of looking I realized it's a KTM. As we were getting ready to go, I saw another bike coming down the street. It seemed to have an off center headlight, check. It turned into a parking garage and I spotted an underslung muffler, check. It was barricade orange, check. We ran over and found the guy right as he was about to get into an elevator. Owns 5 Buells. We talked for a while and he came over to see my bike. Very nice guy. |

So I gotta ask... Is anyone going to the IMS Show in DC this weekend? Yup, you guessed it. I no longer have to work this Saturday! More sensible heads prevailed and the build that was going to 'have to happen' over the weekend is now scheduled for Tuesday of next week. So my calendar is clear! Or will I have to resort to plan B (Greenville, SC show with Glenn)? 1313 |

I really gotta get all my thoughts lined up when I post... I will be going to Berlin for work in late January (leaving the 27th) and coming back in early February (coming back on the 6th), so if anyone wants or needs anything from Germany (especially considering the German economy isn't where it once was - i.e. the exchange rate has dropped quite a bit from when I was there in June) get a hold of me and let's work something out. Mr. Rainey, I promise you will get that bottle that you've wanted for so long. Other than that I'd prefer to keep the limited amount of alcohol that I can bring back for myself. But there is a world of kick arse Buell (and other brand motorcycle parts) available in Germany. For example, this Lightning flyscreen comes straight from Germany:
