Smoke, Thanks for clearing up the confusion. As far as contingencies go, yes Buell has a very good program, better than Ducati. Matthew |

Matthew, our guy is a new rider, so he has to race "Clubman" on Sat at first and he is still about 10 sec off the transfer pace into the Sunday races. But he is signed up for his new rider school and I have already discussed him with Henry, so it's going to be a fun year, but isn't racing always fun?.. lol . ... Terry |

AFM is very competitive and I know that there are some real quick riders competing on twins. Bud Anderson is one name that comes to mind. I will be very interested to hear your thoughts after you get to spend some time with this bike!! Matthew AFM is competitive! In Open Twins in 2008, there was a AMA National Champion, a AMA National race winner and a really quick guy named Matt Green. Great racing to watch! For those that haven't seen it, here is the Buell video of the 1125R I rode at Infineon in November. Stock bike with stock tires.... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4216728504 72513801&hl=en |

AFM has always had top caliber riders from way back heck I remember the day that Randy Mamola had his first ever roadrace at Sears Point (he was about 12-14 yrs old) on a 125 dirt bike with slicks, clip-ons and a fairing.....he went off in turn 1 and there were many others who came from AFM roots..... Matt read this thread. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/158 664/398590.html?1222359618 The 1125R off the floor will need minor upgrades to get race ready where a 1098S will be ready for club racing off the floor. But look at the price difference. A 1098S is $20K versus an 1125R with is $12K. You can buy a lot of racing parts for $8K difference between the two and with the right rider can pull 2 sec. a lap on the 1098R / 1198. |

I saw that and it does prove that they definitely have that bike working! In all fairness though, there was not anybody there near Higbee's talent level. Either way, breaking the track record is impressive. BTW, does anyone know if someone is working on a chain conversion kit that uses the stock swingarm? It would also be nice if woodcraft would start manufacturing rearsets for this bike! Matthew |

+1 on rearsets. i was dragging toe a little trying to upshift while leaned over at Jennings. too many other bikes to only have the gp shift on the track. the chain drive is available through your dealer and Buell racing but is spendy with the swingarm replacement. tim |

What about that chain-conversion kit Grandstand has for Firebolts with the eccentric tensioner? Beats the heck out of welding tips with adjusters on... http://grandstanddesigns.com/shop/index.php?l=prod uct_detail&p=5 Z |

Z, That is more like it! Something like that shouldn't be hard to convert to the 1125r. $800.00 is much easier to take than $2000.00! I wonder if this is already in the works? Matthew |
