Saw this exhaust set-up and chain drive on one of the 1125s at the IMS show-may have been Barnes bike? Nice looking can and headers, reminded me of the race can on my S-2,used stock rear mount. Carbon fiber body kit was very pretty as well.     | ||

That is the RMR bike AS RACED by Barnes and Higbee. That pipe/manifold replaced the SARON that was being raced a few months back (we saw it in Road America during Homecoming) BLATANT SPECULATION ALERT!!! Maybe proto "factor race" pipe?? | ||

Just to look at it, it looks like the Burns pipe... but Burns usually acid-etches their name/logo. It is most likely a developmental pipe - maybe Burns, maybe not. I'm no authority, just an interested party. | ||

I wondered about that pipe too. It was nothing that I had seen here and I think we have pretty much seen all of 'em. I would have asked a Buell rep. but 1) they were all busy and 2) I didn't think they would know. It was a peculiar bike--like a half done race bike. | ||

Heck, a lot of the folks working the booth are H-D staff and not Buell. They're there to get an education as much as they are there to explain stuff. The display 1125R was not a racebike but simply a model for the race parts - fairing, front brake and quick disconnect hydraulic line, swingarm, quick change rear end, rear sets/reverse shift (that's all I can remember). The MotoST bike WAS the bike that Barnes and Higbee raced at Daytona - exactly as it was when it came off the track. | ||

There are a ton of race parts for the 1125R and many more in testing and development. Many of you recall the mention of "500 race parts on the way". It's going to be a well supported race bike. | ||

uh Slaughter......all of the "models" bikes around the IMS show had pretty fresh race slicks...absolutely no wear the RMR bike had well scrubbed in tires...I would believe this is the exact bike that Barnes rode the piss out of at Daytona just MHO bob (Message edited by bobup on December 23, 2008) | ||

Sorry - we're talking two different IMS. I was referring to Long Beach where they had the RMR bike and the James Gang bikes on prominent display just as they'd come off the track at Daytona. I was really tickled that the RACE BIKES were the DOMINANT display. The 1125R with the Race Parts was an unridden bike (as far as I could tell) put up on a stand in the "store-within-a-store" - just displaying the Buell Racing bodywork and parts. All the other models were brand new/unridden or nearly so. | ||

The James Gang bike is exactly the way we finished at Daytona in October, winning the Team Challenge Championship. Tires and all. After 2 hours of racing. | ||

Likewise, the Rossmeyer Daytona Racing 1125R on the IMS tour is the Moto-ST bike that finished 3rd in the eight hour race. |
