I'm not trying to start a war. Just wondering how many Buellers do and don't care for the mother ship. (Message edited by skinstains on December 21, 2008) |

In what context? If you mean in regard to customer service I can't say having never had to deal with them. If you mean the company in general count me in the "love" boat because they're the ones making the bike I like. |

I'm amazed at Harley-Davidson. Other than Martin Guitars no other American company has earned such a place in the history of American business. As a businessman (Small Business of the Year - 1988, Leadership Kansas -1987, Advanced Management Program, Dallas, TX 1988 and BBA Economics 1977) I am amazed at what they have done. They have defined their market, become intimately familiar with it and moved with it for well over 100 years. For investors, they've taken $1.00 investments in 1987 and turned them into $10,000 ones. Harley-Davidson had something like 67 consecutive quarters of INCREASING growth. Microsoft can't touch Harley-Davidson achievement. I'm not always in synch with their products but I always admire them and if you'd read WELL MADE IN AMERICA by Rich Teerlink I'll be you'd have an elevated opinion. Harley-Davidson, love'em or hate'em stands at the pinnacle of success stories in American business. |

I loved BMC for 13 years now, and will continue to love my tubers. But after 5 trips to the shop for the same problem, and the problem is STILL not resolved, and what appears to be minimal help from customer service, I'm done. This '08 Uly has me becoming a hater! Stop the insanity! Fix the bike or give me my money back so I can spend it on a bike that will run properly! |

I've always thought an AMA Twinsport racer replica would be cool (based on the previous generation Sportster)...that's about it. |

Nothing but respect for the MoCo. They've consistently improved their products, rolled with the market through war, peace, recession and prosperity. They've identified their market, and more than satisfied them. They've built an image that self-propagates. Any business major will tell you, it all adds up to damn near the "ultimate company". Unfortunately, there are teething pains between HD and Buell. That market HD identified? TOTALLY different than Buell folks. Kudos for the foresight to purchase Buell, and for being able to tell it's part of the "wave of the future" for motorcycling. Now, to just sit down and figure out how to get two obviously differing demographics to be equally happy. 106 years versus 26 years. It's going to take time, that's all. |

Love my Buell would love a dirty 450cc Buell too. HATE that they cancelled the program, HATE the AMA for changing the rules that spelled the death of the program, HATE that I will have to buy a non American product to fill that niche of my riding and empty spot in my garage. |

I buy their bikes because they are assembled in the USA. I do not buy their clothing products as I cannot get past all the made in China labels. I do not shop at walmart either. Don't mean to hijack the thread but here is why. http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/77/walmart.htm l |

why hate it? Harley Davidson's inverstment into BMC allowed them to grow and develope new tech that wouldn't have been done in Erik Buell's barn. Hate the dealerships if you wan't, but the Mothership has been pretty decent to Buell. (Message edited by Buellinachinashop on December 22, 2008) |

I can't say I hate the MO.CO. but I don't care for the current customer base.... I liked the people that would stop and see if ya needed a hand if you were parked on the side of the road.... Would ride in the rain..... Would spend more time putting miles on than cleaning their bike.... Wouldn't turn their nose up at you because all you could afford was a rice grinder.... BUT.... they spend money, take Riders Edge Classes... and that helps to keep me on the track! |
