I have the daytona Boss exhaust and the front clamp keeps breaking. Does anyone just run the rear clamp on any exhaust sys. and nothing other than that clamp and the header bolts. And if your curious as to which exhaust it is you can find it it the X-Files in the links section. Thanks in advance.

I would imagine you would start breaking header bolts off that way. Make sure you're installing it correctly!!

Do to timely research I have found that that was the major problem with that exhaust. And like all my luck they are no longer in business. Breaking the bolts is what I was afraid of but I have seen a few race sys. that only had the rear bolt hole for mounting. Any more insight would be great and thanks for the reply.

I have a different exhaust, but had the same problem.

I fixed it by using the heavy duty factory clamp (that connects the header to the muffler) on the mount and using a marine T-Clamp style hose clamp on the header to muffler connection.

It looks better too!

YAY! someone else with the same system as me.

I gave up on the original mounting hardware and brazed the pipe directly to the clamps.
Ugly but doesn't rattle loose ever.

Do NOT use it without supporting the front of the pipe though.

I had a custom front bracket made for mine. I brought my BOSS and Supertrapp to a local stainless steel fabricator. He made my bracket to mimic the one on the ST. Looks great and it's super strong.

Sorry...the bikes in storage and I don't have any pictures.

Stainless Specialties was based out of Sebastion(sp?) Fla. Now looks like they are located up in Tennessee.

The Daytona Boss was just an adaptation of one of their standard car mufflers

I don't know if yours looks like this, but you can see the thin, T-Clamp on the left and the thick, factory clamp, that was originally where the T-Clamp is now, is used to attach the muffler to the mount.

Do yourself a favor and change over to the "Y" style exhaust mount.
You can weld in a tubular spacer to take off the strain.
I will try to get you some pics of my ugly pipe when I get home.
I used the back end from a stainless steel barbecue tool to reinforce my broken clampy thing.

Thanks for the advice (you are not the 1st!), but I will wait until it breaks or shows signs of breaking.

It is mounted well - I drag race it - it shows no signs of a problem and it looks better than the "Y" mount.

I haven't weighted the slip on, but it is extremely light - I believe that is why I have not had a problem.

My front rotor doesn't rattle either - go figure!

Anyone know where the clamp that is on the Italian ride in the thread (First show first 2 trophies) can be found. I can fab somethin if I can find that clamp.

For a while I used a "shoe" from a race can as the front mount.
My rear mount is one that AL at American Sport Bike had made up.

It was on the Boss, It's been a while since I had the Boss on my M2, I don't recall exactly how I mounted ths shoe.
I might be able to find an old picture, If I do, i'll post it.
