Can some one tell me what kind and how much fork oil is needed for a 2000 m2 cyclone.

My bike is in La. getting the forks rebuilt by my dad, my book for it is in Tx. and I am TDY in Ft Campbell Ky. So my dad needs to know this information so he can finish my bike intime for me to go pick it up christmas weekend.

4.25 inches from top with fork fully compressed (4.13 inches for an M2L) - last time I used Bel-Ray 7W.

As Zen said forks fully compressed. 4.25" from fluid to top of tube is avg. Max is 4.92 and Min is 3.15. It depends if you want more or less dampening. Make sure the fluid is even in both tubes. Recommended fork oil is HD-99884-80 (Type E fork oil) and standard capacity is 15.96 oz. Just tell them type E. Hope this helps. This info came from my manual and I have rebuilt my 2000 and 2001 forks before. Rebuild not just change oil.

Oh and also you'll probably need the adjuster assy positions. (a) Turn slotted dial clockwise until it stops. Then turn counterclockwise 5/8 turns until the two dots align. (b) See Figure 2-88. Setspring adjuster height as shown. (from the manual) The newer adjuster assy. will not have punch marks and the distance from the top of the large nut on top to the top of the small nut on top is .55".

I thought I remembered you Fire. I was the one that had the 2 sets of forks for sale. I was about 3 weeks to late putting them up for sale (For you anyway). Good luck. If you need any other info just ask.
