I know from reading here that quite a few folks have gone to BMC's light smoke windscreen and some other colors but I'm waiting for Zero Gravities dark smoke. I e-mailed Glenn Cook today and he said their still trying to get an 1125R for fitment purposes. He said it'll just be a couple weeks to have them out once they get one. Anybody near Camarillo, Ca. with a desire to get one care to let them have your bike for fitting? I'd be there for everybody but just a little too far to travel. I guess if they had to buy a bike for all the models they have available they'd be out of business. Good stuff too. I've had several. Hopefully for spring when the riding gets going fully. |

I thought I saw some ZG prototypes earlier. I can remember if they were real or drawings. |

If you have contact info, I'll give them a buzz. It's a bit of a ride from San Diego....but I'm game. Depends on how long they need the bike for. |

Sorry...devils advocate here. But are we to believe that a multi-million dollar company who specializes in aftermarket products for production bikes is having a hard time getting a donor bike? Sounds to me like lip service. In today's world of reverse engineering can't they buy the 50 dollar OEM wind screen to replicate the pattern or maybe...oh here is a novel idea...buy the upper fairing and use that. More over, why would I give my money to a company that obviously doesn't want to support the new model.

I contacted them over a month ago...prior to a show I was invited to attend, They have had prototypes for well over that month!...I played phone tag and called ten times over in an attempt to get one sample to show and test! They claimed it was already good...when I offered them sales, based upon the show, no big deal. I finally gave up but honestly, I would like to have their option, even after the above drama! ? Go figure! I'm a sucker for what I cannot make myself...and my past examples prove that they produce and stand behind, excellent product offerings. I'll try to call them again but something tells me that we are not high priority on their list. mm |

More over, why would I give my money to a company that obviously doesn't want to support the new model. Agreed. Let see...what company can we think of that supports the new model? Oh yeah, BUELL !!! The Buell smoke windscreen is great looking, reasonably priced and doesn't mess with the aerodynamics that the BMC engineers spent so much time on! My ONLY wish is that it was a tad bit darker. |

A $5.00 can of black paint does wonders...if that is what your after. And don't forget to spray the BACKSIDE! LOL! Some of us don't give a flip who cares or doesn't...just wanna buy for our model!!!!! The reason that most (aftermarket) don't care is they are wondering why the majority of "us" kick tires when there is something available?...then, do not step up. Look what is available today? What have YOU purchased? Get the jest? So...step up or shut up is the lingo of today. If your not really going to purchase, what the hell reason do any have to post wondering of it to begin with?! Come on... |

A $5.00 can of black paint does wonders...if that is what your after. And don't forget to spray the BACKSIDE! LOL! +1 That's the route I took. Word of wisdom...Look VERY closely at the screen surface before applying paint. I ended up having to strip and repaint. There were super-small bubbles in the inside surface of the windscreen, which ended up looking like frost in between the lexan and paint. So, I sanded it all back off for a couple hours and made sure to get rid of all the imperfections that were never visible when it was clear. Still a bit of imperfection visible there, but nowhere near as bad as before. I'm content enough for now... |

Ponti1, ...ah, sure you didn't leave that protective film intact prior to spray bomb? I hope you didn't just spray over it prior to peeling it off? Or am I missing something here? |

No protective film...I prepped the surface lightly, but missed the fact that the surface had thousands of super small bubbles in it. The paint didn't fill those tiny divots, so I was left with a horrible finish. After removing the paint with some 400 grit and fine steel wool, I could see them better because the dust from sanding was collecting in them. Sanded with 1000 grit for about an hour or two to get them worked out. Wish I had taken better pics of the ordeal. |

I used model paint.... window tint spray paint for plastic models........ testors makes it.It works great! 3 or 4 coats more if you want it darker. They only make smoke (black whatever) but for 6 or 8 bucks and some cleaning prep..... well worth it. |

Honestly, the number of 1125r is still small. Let's say there are 1,500 of us. HOw many do you honestly think will buy a ZG windscreen? 5% maybe. ZG knows these numbers. That's 75 windscreens sold. I don't know if that is worth ZG's time and effort. |

Back on 27Sep, one of the ZG people wrote me and said they would be shipping 1125r windscreens in ~3 weeks. He suggested I call and place an order at 800-345-9791. One or two other things have derailed my time and I have not followed up on this. Please feel free to contact them and see about their offering. Neil S. |

Sure does look like ZG is looking at numbers and trying to decide what to do. With that said, a while back I bought a ZG for my M2 with a Suzuki RF 900 fairing. Now how many of those do they sell. All we can do is take their word for it right now and I for one may decide to go with BMC's light smoke if ZG's are not out by spring. A shame for sure, they make great stuff. |

Hi all. I spoke with a tech by the name of Glen I believe at ZG the other day. He says they are about ready but may need another donor to finalize. I offered our bike at SkipFordyce HD/Buell as we do with Jardine and K&N. He was to get the original donor's bike back, but it did not happen and he will get back to me if he wants our bike or a dealer nearby. He also wanted to work with the 09 1125CR flyscreen and maybe just buy the flyscreen(maybe work on a transparent one). I don't see any problem with ZG wanting a test mule. IF I lived closer I'd do it! |

Thanks much for your input and offering to assist in getting them a test bike Rob. Hope its not too much of an imposition to you guys. Seems like you at Skip Fordyce and my friends at Glendale are really trying to be a "force", excuse the pun, in being a "real" Buell dealer. We are in dire need of such dealers. Thanks again, Bob |

No tire kickers here! mm ps. my order will be dark smoke, 2-3" higher than stock and loaded cc in hand, PM me or post when ready! Can you tell that I REALLY WILL BUY ONE!? |
