I currently have Yellow Plastics on my '03 9s. Haven't had any luck trading them off, so my next option is to have them painted. Would anybody be interested in painting my plastics matte black for a reasonable price ? If so, drop me a line ! |

You could always try the Fusion paint, especially if you're going with a matte instead of gloss (less chance of seeing the "oopsies", lol). I think it's a rustoleum paint, found it at Home Depot, but it's designed to "fuse" with plastic. Just wipe it down really well with some cleaner (I like rubbing alcohol myself, just make sure to let it dry) and mist with light, even coats until you get the coverage you want. Try it on the inside of the airbox cover first, if you (like me) don't always trust yourself |

It's Krylon Fusion. Check it out: http://www.krylon.com/products/categories/plastic/ It works VERY well on plastic, no chipping or anything. I've never used it on Buell plastic, but I've used it on very flexible plastic lawn furniture and it never chipped or even faded after years outside. Good luck, if you go with the Krylon give us an update and let us all know how it worked! |

Next question : I currently have the Silver "Buell Emblem" on my airbox cover... I'm going to try and remove it w/o damaging it and reapplying. What would I use to reattach ? Have any of you had any luck w/removing it w/o wrecking ? Thanks again. |

about removing the lettering if you pre heat it a bit (hair dryer) and do it with care you may be able to remove it withe glue under and will stick back again quite well |

If the adhesive comes off the back of the lettering, clear it completely with some carb cleaner, then get some 2-sided automotive trim tape to put it back on. |
