Just brought 2,400 lbs of pellet stove fuel home tonight in the Cummins...didn't even know it was there, and it didn't even sag enough for folks to flash me for having my 'high beams' on. I love that truck Court - you should fit one just fine, remember to measure from the furthest-front position (the 3:00/9:00 spot on the front wheel, depending on which side you're on), to the rear contact patch with the ground. Should be able to fit just fine, with the gate down (figure 6.75' bed plus 1.5'-ish tailgate added on...). |

Court - I can put my Uly in my Dakota and if the bike's cinched down enough I can even put the tailgate up. The bed is 6'6" long. So I'm sure a 6" bed with the tailgate down will hold just about any Buell out there... |

(imagelinked from http://image.customclassictrucks.com/f/9629628/060 1cct_06_z+_hot_rod_history+.jpg } Not sure if this meets all the requirements though, also not sure if it's even for sale, but I am sure it would haul a Buell just fine. |

You drive a Buell, continue the tradition. Buy American! Women love F-150's, especially the lifted and mud tired variety. |

Dude: I've been driving and F-150 for over 10 years. I have a German car ordered for May but need to have something I can haul the Buell in . . . and a loaf of bread. |

It may be heresy but think about a Toyota truck. I have the Tacoma and love it. It's a 1999 and has 158,000 miles on it with no sign of slowing down. The only repair was a starter at 148,000. I get decent mileage, and all I ever do is maintenance jobs. Mostly the occasional tune up, oil change, or a new battery or tires. Maintain them and they last for ever. I have the Pre-Runner that sits up nice and high and give great visibility. Cab is comfortable too. |

My last two have been V8 Dodge Dakotas, one a club, one a crew cab. I've loved both. |

I live in Florida. No need to worry about salt eating anything important. No body rust no problems with the underside at all. |

Over 300K on my last chevy PU.Clutches were a bugger but that's what I get for plowing with it. Sold it to a guy that still uses it for plowing! Parts are relatively cheap and accessible for chevys, I'll never buy an import for a work truck. But I'd love to get a mini for those times I don't carry anything...course that's what the bike is for! |

I've had two 4x4 Rams with over 150,000 and have had zero problems. It's all in how you take care of them! Court, I can get both my bikes in the back of my 6' bed with the tailgate shut. The only time I had an issue was putting my friends Sv 650 in the back. It was just a tad longer than the Buells. |

BadS1, I could never own an Element unless they double the horsepower, but your pic is classic! I'll have to share it with my bud that does have one. |

Court, My S3 fits in a '97 Silverado with the tailgate up, but it's close. If the bags are attached they bang on the tailgate when I hit a bump, though. Fortunately someone stopped me before I drove to far with my (then) new purchase. When I picked up the S2 the shock had been removed, and I'm not sure how much that affected the overall length. Plenty of room as I recall, though. |

Easy, Actually its a pretty peppy little truck. Hell I've thrown a washer,dryer,fridge,armour,6 arbarvitae tree's at a time (6 footer with pots) and a big ol 8 hp ariens snowblower. The damn thing is kinda a mighty mouse of sorts.

DODGE, just keeps going!!! 40 years old, still runs strong, gets 12mpg running at 4.5ton! I can get a Buell in the bed even with the toolchest, TT will go in diag & the tailgate will shut, open for the M2. Running empty it'll see off lot's of current so called sport-hatches. Ok it's a bit lacking in the comfort department, & the decibel level is serious enough to rarely need the radio, but who needs a radio with a V8 & dual pipes? What? I said WHAT?

Well got the Durango back. They put a new fuel tank in it. They had it for two days. They put 10 bucks of gas in it for us Friday. We haven't driven all weekend. My wife went to fill it up and it won't let you put more then a buck at a time without the pump shutting the gun off. Then when ya pull the gun out it spits fuel everywhere. Its doing the same thing but with a new tank in it. It goes back tomorrow in the AM. I'm not happy with the purchase of this truck. It has had petty things time and time again. I've owned 4 toyota's,1 subaru, and one Honda all new since 1993. I bought this Durango new last year new. Its been in the shop more then all my Imports put together in one year. First chance I get... its gone. It drives nice. It looks great. That all I can say for it. Its been to two different dealers over the coarse of my ownership of it. I;ve had enough. No wonder Chrysler is in bad financial state. |

Chrysler's issues are because of what the Germans did to them, but thats another thread. The issue your having sounds like the evap system. The check valve gets jammed, causing your symptoms. |

John, Like I said lots of petty stuff. Rattles, bad wheels from the factory.... meaning not true, Gas tank problems 3rd go around. Putting another one in today along with a charcoal canister and another vent system. Sheesh!! Like I said petty. But the fact of the matter is this is it 12 visit in a year and a half and it just turned 18,000 miles. |

Grumpy, that truck of yours looks almost identical to my first vehicle.... a 1967 Dodge Power Wagon. Someone had a full ton running gear on it, and we dropped a mid-80's 318 in it. Came with 38" mud tires that made asphalt feel like ice, but it was one helluva attention getter in high school! Her name was Charlene, and she could seriously kick a Ford Probe's ass (long story). ~SM |
