Now that the exchange rate is becoming a little easier on the pocket book, I'm thinking of buying a Boxer. If memory serves at least one of you guys has one. If you do, could you please give a review on the pluses and minuses? thanks, 'Shop |

I have never owned one, - I always wanted to. They apparently have improved the Boxer and now call it the Boxer V. There is also the problem of getting the right size. They are made in France, and they do their own thing. Long Oval heads are out.
Other small details are no DOT approval, no US importer, no source of repair parts which they need quite often, little things like that. They do show up on eBay from time to time for about $320, or you can order them from England. I never got a response from the company in France. Cool hat though, without a doubt. |

I tried on JD69's. Cool helmet. Sucked for me. Unless your head is shaped like a cylinder, it ain't happening. I couldn't buckle it because my chin kept the chin bar from coming down and it flopped around the top of my head. I got a long oval head. |

you can find them if you search on the on the uk ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/_W0QQ_nkwZroofQ20boxe rQ20vQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZR40QQ_mdoZ that is how i found mine. it is very well ventilated good for summer but not so much when it gets cooler out. the visibility is great. as long as your not riding at night with the tinted lens on in suches georgia...... also if you have a large chin this lid isn't for you. the fit and finish on the helmet is really nice. i really like mine a lot. but like jon said it isn't snell or dot approved. but it does meet European standards. |

the chin strap is sweet. it is just like a mini seat belt buckle. very fast and easy to get on and off even with gloves on. as far as wind noise. it is fairly quite. i have a shark rs1 or something??? the roof is way more quite than the shark at any speed. ventilation is the is excellent. very breezy inside there. if you wear contacts it may dry your eye's. when it was all said and done it ended up costing me around $600 to get the helmet. hope that helps you guy's. any other question feel free to ask. |

I'm sure that shield was probably close to a buck 25 too. Thanks for the info. |

Osbe also makes helmets that have a similar look to that one. The 2 models are I believe the Rufus, and Tornado? I just never wanted to spend that much on a non-dot helmet. |

The Boxers can be had for about $320.00 +$80.00 shipping now on Ebay. $400.00 yes, $600.00 no. I saw one Bover V with a tinted shield for $480.00 shipped. If memory serves, Gary got his early last season or the season before and probably paid more because it was newer. |

I want one bad but I worry about going through all the trouble and finding out it doesn't fit right. I wanted an Icon mainframe until I tried one on. I heard so many good things about the Mainframe but it is not for me. |

I tried one on while in the UK and found it rubbed against the tip of my nose. No matter what size I tried, they all seemed to rub on my beak (which I didn't think was that big until then). I was truly bummed because I really wanted to buy one. |
