Does anyone know how to adjust the mirrors housing. I adjusted the mirror,(glass) as far as it would go but it's not quite enough ????? | ||

It' not adjustable. I'm not happy with the range of adjustment or the size of the mirror for visibility either. | ||

I had the same setup as Carbonbigfoot, but it turned out to be not such a good idea Navigating through dense Cali traffic. | ||

The mirror heads are similar if not identical R to CR. The stalks are way different. I like the Firebolt mirrors I put on Loretta, they work well. see profile pic I was unhappy with the range & method of adjustment, as well as always having a blurry useless image. Simple drop-in swap of the mirrors, re-wired the turn signals to my front running lights. Zack | ||

I went back to my dealer and complained about mine. We pushed the stalk as far back as possible , then adjusted the mirror itself to where I wanted it, applied a drop of Locktite on the round bolt under the rubber cover. Problem solved. | ||

Okay, I had the same problem. I just took the clamps at the bar loose and moved them forward 1/4" inch, checking all cables as I did it, them re-clamped tight. So far, doing that and adjusting the mirrors within the housing has resulted in a minor improvement. There has not been any issues with the throttle line or brake line or electrical lines. I would not suggest moving the clamps any more though. | ||

I brought my new 1125r home Tuesday and my only issue is the mirrors. I had trouble on my XB and went to bar-ends. I may end up doing the same thing with the R. Will need to figure out something with the turn signals. | ||

Bar end mirrors jus work so damn good. You can see out of em at any speed, they don't require any contortions to see them, just a couple of degrees more that the position of the stock mirrors. I think I have decided that I'm gonna do the Rizoma thing. I like the CRG lane splitters, but I keep going back to the Rizomas...   MMMMMMmmmmmm...Round or Not? R | ||

I solved my mirror issue, maybe what I did can help you as well. 1) I bought one pack of 7/8" O.D. x 3/8" I.D. x 1/16" thick rubber washers, (two in a pack) Lowes .92cents. 2) Cut a 3/8" wide slot in a 15mm socket as pictured. Less then $5 if you don't have one. 3) Mark the current location of the mirror stem to the mirror stem bracket 4) Removed mirror stem bracket from the handle bar mount. 5) The mirror has a screw at the base of the stem. That screw has a hole thru the middle. The wire for the turn signal goes thru this hole. 6) Use the slotted 15mm socket to loosen the screw with the wire escaping thru the slot in the socket. 7) Where the stem and the bracket meet there is a bit of lube. Clean it off. 8) Slice the rubber washer as pictured and install between the stem & bracket around the screw housing the wire. 9) Finger tighten screw with the wire coming thru the hole, adjust mirror as needed using markings you made previously. 10) Tighten and reinstall. Took about 15 minutes....... works great !  | ||

Hooliagn, I am not certain a rubber gasket will give me enough room to see. Your fix sounds great, but I don't know if it will work for me. I'm 6'2" and wear a size 48 jacket. If your shoulders are as big as mine, then it should work.  | ||

Yeah, I don't think it will be a end all fix for you. Actually it's just a quick fix for me. I plan to buy a set from Rizoma at a later date but for right now I can finally see what's behind me. | ||

Carbon - those are gorgeous! the round ones are convex, so while good for blindspots i'd like to see behind me. So i'd go for the first set. Both look fantastic! wonder if these will fit on the R? What about the fairing? think they will hit? if i could swing it i'd like to do the grips, mirrors, end caps (needed for mirrors), and levers ($$!). anyone know if they will fit? clearance for mirrors on R, and grips and levers? they show the levers for the XB12R etc. drool... Here is a pic of my 1125R with the stock mirrors relocated, fairing raised and stretched 1/2 inch up to make the wind bubble bigger. I am in Korea without my baby but if some one can get me a sketch of the front fairing exploded view with all parts I should be able to sketch out what we did for mine. My local at the time aluminum metal worker was able to make min in about 3 evenings for about $275. Toby  Supprisingly I was able to see better behind me and from the crouched position more as well. a simple twist and bend here and there and I could see from different angles. just loosen the stalk where it clamps to the bar and rotate it whatever angle you need. I couldn't adjust mine to where I needed them until I did this, then all was good. |
