Pulled into my garage Tuesday night with 1,001 miles on the odometer. I have 1,062 on it so far. Time to start paying attention to my gas mileage now that I'll be riding it "normally."

You should have been riding it normally for the last 462 miles!

Krassh: I've been taking it up to redline at every chance I could between 600 and 1000 miles. That's not "Normal."

Sorry it sounded like you stated I just reached 1000+ miles so I can start riding it normal. Sounded like you were still babying it after 600 miles.

Guess normal to me is riding it like a raped ape. Sorry!

I never "Baby" my bikes during break in. I ride it hard limiting myself only to the RPM limit set by the manufacturer. Once the bike is warm, I do hard acceleration, hard braking, running up and down through the gears, etc. I actually work the bike a lot harder during the break in than I would normally. That's what I meant.
