Pulled into my garage Tuesday night with 1,001 miles on the odometer. I have 1,062 on it so far. Time to start paying attention to my gas mileage now that I'll be riding it "normally." |

You should have been riding it normally for the last 462 miles!

Krassh: I've been taking it up to redline at every chance I could between 600 and 1000 miles. That's not "Normal." |

Sorry it sounded like you stated I just reached 1000+ miles so I can start riding it normal. Sounded like you were still babying it after 600 miles. Guess normal to me is riding it like a raped ape. Sorry!

I never "Baby" my bikes during break in. I ride it hard limiting myself only to the RPM limit set by the manufacturer. Once the bike is warm, I do hard acceleration, hard braking, running up and down through the gears, etc. I actually work the bike a lot harder during the break in than I would normally. That's what I meant. |
