Unfortunately, Mr. Madison's attitude is the prevailing one in the U.S. Americans first and foremost buy price, even in good times. Not to put too fine a point on it folks, but we are cheap bastards. The jobs "exported" are being sent out by us, the American consumer. |

In some cases. In other cases, (not with this product $120 is a fair price) the company selling the product tries to get rich off of one sell. The mark ups are just greedy: Nike Various watch makers Even the "Big Three" u see what they selling cars for right now. 0% should always be available to those with great credit. $15,000.00 under invoice ....wow If the Big Three were really smart they would have had these or similar incentives all along and would have put Toyota, Honda and Nissan out of business in this country quite some time ago. All I'm saying is be fair and fair things will come to you. Be greedy and it will come back to eat you. |

>If the Big Three were really smart they > would have had these or similar > incentives all along and would have put > Toyota, Honda and Nissan out of business > in this country quite some time ago Hooliagn, This is a vastly simplified view, and largely incorrect. So much of the Big 3's problems are not just rooted in simpel sales tactics and greed. They are rooted in operational cost issues which make the uncompetitive. For starters, there's $1300 worth of health care costs in every GM vehicle. That's before nut or bolt #1 gets put anywhere! That's a HUGE disadvantage in a $13,000 compact car... imagine trying to beat ANYONE in a commodity business with a 10% disadvantage right off the bat! ... and that doesn't even take into account labor costs, management overhead, "greed", and anything else you want to blame the big three for. I'm not defending them... I think they should go bankrupt because they are poorly run... but your comments aren't really accurate or factual. It's a lot more complicated than you are making it out to be. For example, 0% financing costs a LOT of money to provide in certain markets. Provided over 3 years, a 0% loan could easily erode any profit the car maker made selling you the car! And, it misses the point that cars are often sold at a loss or at cost and the real money in the business is made on financing, anyway! Your 0% plan would have bankrupted the car makers eons ago, not made them stronger. The big 3 are in trouble because their business stinks! Let captalism run its course and clean out the dead wood. Sure it will be painful for a while, but are we are discussing right now is postponing the inevitible. |

Speaking from someone in F&I at a Ford dealership, 0% is an absolute illusion. Instead of Ford Motor Company writing the dealership a check for the rebate money we take off the car, they write Ford Motor Credit a check for almost exactly the same amount to subsidize the artificially low rate. And then your amount financed is higher, AND you have to keep the vehicle for the entire term of the loan to derive ALL the benefit of the 0%!!!. Most people DO NOT keep the vehicle till it's paid off, and therefore leave a chunk of money on the table when they trade out. <sigh> Rob p.s. I love you guys. Please don't hold the whole car salesman/F&I thing against me... At least I'm not a Lawyer or an IRS Agent.... <grin> (Message edited by carbonbigfoot on December 04, 2008) |

JDugger Like you said. "So much of the Big 3's problems are not just rooted in simpel sales tactics and greed. They are rooted in operational cost issues which make the uncompetitive." AND "The big 3 are in trouble because their business stinks! Let captalism run its course and clean out the dead wood." Capitalism almost always turns into greed and I restate. "Be greedy and it will come back to eat you." But getting back to the subject.... Anymore pics available ???? |

I'd plan on selling the black 5 to 1 over the plain. But yeah, I'll be ordering one and the shifter and rear brake levers too this winter. |

It's a really nice piece... I like the positioning of the license plate, more recessed than other similar products. Would you sell the license plate holder part separately? I have an existing tail tidy kit... Another nice color option might be Buell's "Fusion Bronze"... the greyish color that's on various metal parts on the bike. |

Black fo' sho'. Powder coat would be as good as some fancy "no quite black" anodizing, I my opinion. The Tech Mount stuff anodizez black, it's actually more of a deep, dark blue. It looks stupid up against all the actualy black (control plastics, handlebars, controls, etc.) of a typical bike. Powdercoat it flat black like the frames in the 09s. |
