After reading the Jan. Cycle world CR test,(which was very favorable,as others have said)it was mentioned that a problem of fuel pooling on the intake valves on the 08 models. According to the article, the re-aimed injectors were the cure for the problem ,or at least in part. My question is does the pooling of fuel on the intake valves still happen on our 08's, and what effect does it have on the engine etc.? Or did the reflash help with this? I'm not a mechanic or engineer. What would the pooling fuel cause, excess heat, stalling, poor mileage, hesitation, accelerated carbon build up, all the above? All or part of the problems most experienced. Since we don't have re-aimed injectors I would assume the problem is still with the 08's. I'd hate to think everything is becoming carboned up at a faster rate than normal. Or, is this another case of media's own ideas, or misunderstanding of the real problem and solution? Any ideas from any of the more mechanical members? |

the injectors on the 09 bike are said to provide a better fuel air mixture by aligning the injectors in the intake stream differently in an attempt to prevent the fuel from impacting on the far wall of the intake tract and not mixing correctly. I must say that my 09 runs far better at lower revs than any 08, even the models with the latest reflash. Well done Buell for all the effort in sorting this out, pity the original purchasers of the model when it first came out have really been doing BMC's development work for them. BMC should really consider offering the 08 owners the 09 injection parts either FOC or at a substantial discount as a way of repaying loyalty. I for one will never sell my Firebolt and the 1125R is an addition not a replacement |

I was going to sell the Firebolt before I got the 1125R (or so I thought). Went ahead and bought the 08 1125R and decided WTH I'll just keep both. Best decision They are both BEASTS and totally different rides. I ain't sellin' either one! |
