OK so I have tried in vain for a couple weeks to trade my xbr tail for someone with a xbs.I figured I might as well post it here in a last ditch effort to find someone interested before I just buy one. I am looking for a xbs tail with very little to no damage to fit on my 2005 XBR hopefully someone in FLORIDA if not close to as I dont want to spend as much to ship it as it would to buy a used one. Be patient. I'm sure someone will chime in. I'd be best if y'all could meet up, that way you both have all the pieces needed to do both swaps. Mark (Wolfridgerider) and I met at the Buell Barn and did the swap in about an hour. | ||

I don't have what you need but I can tell you that by reading your post I'm not sure of what you need either. Maybe if you were a bit more specific it would help. I'm not trying to be a tool but I can't tell if you want everything associated with the tail or only some of it. | ||

My suggestion, which may be pointless. Buy the stuff. I traded same as you. I wanted the S tail. After a week my ass was so sore, so I applied the select seat. better but at the cost of flat footing both feet. Check local bike salvage yards, I found MY blue R tail plastic and airbox cover. (Long story) Now I'm slowly gaining parts back and other cool stuff at swap meets and salvage shops/yards. Soon I'll have both tails to change between at my leisure. | ||

~Less plastic to buff. ~Short body length for radical look. ~More Seat options. ~Addition of spacers for even MORE radical look. ~More leg room. ~No seat cowl to stow incase you pick up a passenger later. ~Lighter weight.(?) ~Something to do during snow season. | ||

Spacers . . . placed between the seat rails and frame to 'jack' the tail up. A hooligan mod that is done often on the other side of the pond.  | ||

About this spacers, how would you adjust for the seat? The spacer would angle the front of the seat up against the tank. Right? | ||

What about leaving your firebolt rear and swapping your front end for a 1125cr? I think it would look pretty sweet with this paint. Any paint shop pros wanna see what it would look like?  | ||

Coming to a EBAY auction tonight at 10:45 PM  I bought this wanting to put it on my ULY, but I need a steering damper for the race bike... and a bunch of race rubber once season starts. I'll post a link once its up. |
