Im looking for a cheap but rebuildable peanut, mustang, any kind of Sportster fuel tank. I am planning on mounting it Frisco style on the Blast Bobber project. They are all over ebay, but I dont have a "hundo" to spend on one. |

If you do a search for "fiberglass tank" in the motorcycle parts department on ebay, I can guarantee you you can find one for well under $100. They're the most common kind of fiberglass tank on the 'bay. |

Thanks Phoebe.. I actually found a tank from a 1983 Nighthawk. I photoshopped it onto my Blast, and posted the picture on the "Got Thump" thread. Only cost $20 bucks and shipping. It just arrived today so Im going to start test fitting soon.

No, darn it I sure didnt. Ive had a lot of curve balls thrown my way this year. The Nighthawk tank didnt work though because I couldnt clear the rear upper engine mount without a lot of cutting. So I purchased Fat Bob tanks which will help clear the mount. I also have a lead on some old Sportster frames that Im hoping to get my hands on. Either way, I should be able to work on the project again this winter. |

So have you had a chance to get on it? Anything come of the Sportster frames? Not sure what the frames your looking at are gonna cost and what else those frames will require you to spend, but that Redneck Engineering frame for the blast looks pretty cool if you ask me. |
