New rider and first bike, but fairly handy and willing to get my hands dirty. Any ideas how much effort/cost would be involved getting this bike all 5 gears? THIS LISTING IS FOR A 2006 BLACK BUELL BLAST THIS BIKE ONLY HAS 1ST & 2ND GEAR. IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 3RD OR HIGHER. IT NEEDS WORK AND THE CASE NEEDS TO BE SPLIT. IT MAY JUST NEED SOME WORK OR IT MAY NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. VERY LOW MILES!!!! |

Yikes. I've seen 2000 - 2003 bikes go for as little as $1500 around here in perfect mechanical condition, and pretty decent cosmetic condition. Problem is if someone has done that much damage to an 2006 trany, who knows what else they did to it. It might cost 500 to 1000 to repair the trans. IMO I'd let this one go unless they are willing to let go of it for around $500. |

Welcome Jason! Splitting the cases is no easy task, especially for the first timer. I concur with evilbetty on what did they do to it with such low mileage to blow the tranny and why wasnt it under warranty. It may not need to have the cases split as it may have been diagnosed wrong. Thats a $1000 gamble. $500, you could get your money back, $1000 is going to take some work. |

Welcome Aboard Jason, You've made a great decision to buy a Blast. But don't buy this one. Gearheaderiko asked a great question: Why wasn't the repair covered by the warranty? That sends big red warning flags up the pole for me. I'd say take a pass on this one and keep looking for different Blast. There are plenty of them out there to choice from. |

How far are you willing to drive to one? If you're familiar with RSS feeds they are a great way to keep tabs on Craigslist postings. Go to http://crazedlist.org and set your search area. Use the following search criteria. buell|HD|Harley blast|P3 You can use Crazedlist to search, or have it generate an XML file to import into your favorite RSS reader. (Must use FireFox web browser to do this part.) |
