I'm putting the front fairing, air box cover and tail I got from AirTech on my 1125R. I'm impressed with the sturdy quality of the glass, the fact that they are trimmed to fit and easy to mount. Pete at AirTech told my I got the second set out of their molds. They did not get this stuff wrong! Pics to follow. | ||

Thanks for the comment. Not until after the first of the year. The new exhaust comes in mid December then I can mount the belly pan around it. | ||

you can also lose the reflectors on the lower fork sections....you won't be needing them on the track...LOL | ||

Duggram - I drilled in the footpeg bracket to mount the belly pan, rather than the brake lever.... I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that is an Ilmberger fairing in the picture. | ||

For my Buell pan I used a longer bolt plus a spacer in the bracket that holds the brake lever (follow the gray piece down a little and to the right of the bolt in the above pic) For the front I used an existing engine cover bolt, for the left side the bolt for the kick stand and the empty bolt where a kickstand switch would mount. I need quick-connects instead of bolts to hold it on for next season. | ||

Josh, for the bottom of my side fairings I found an empty threaded hole toward the front of the motor and replaced one of the starter motor mount bolts on the left. I will use the same you did for the rear of the pan. I was planning on using dzus fasteners on the front of the side fairing for the front of the pan. BTW have you ever looked at KurveyGirl.com ("motorcycle stuff...not porn")? She has all the right dzus fasteners. Unfortunately I didn't know about her stuff when I mounted my side fairings and used some large ones for cars from Moroso. At least they will be covered when I get the pan on. | ||

Guys, for a couple different types of quick(Dzus type) fastners try McMaster-Carr online catalog. I used plastic on most points but one melted near the muffler so I went to steel there. Good prices and direct to you shipping. Bob | ||

Thanks for the heads up on KurveyGirl. I noticed a set of Dzus that I think will work as a seat fastener (replacing the Torx screws). I ordered a set and I will give them a try. | ||

I spoke with some at AirTech on the phone today. They said it will be late January, early February before they have side lower fairings available. They will bolt up directly to the stock side pods... | ||

Doerman, let us know how those dzus' work for the seat, I hate trying to get those off and threaded back on straight. I swear one of these days I'm gonna rip a corner off my seat getting to those stupid Torx screws. Wish i could do something similar to my S-1 setup, 5 sec. and it's off! | ||

Ozzie - when you get your Dzus fastener "science project" done, put it up on a separate thread - it'll be of general interest! If it solves the loose seat-nut problem, it's applicable to ALL XB-type bikes (same problem on my used subframe) And I was referring to the nut in the subframe, NOT the nut ON the seat - I haven't solved THAT problem. | ||

Steve.. They are here.. Looks like it will fit with minor mods to the subframe (a slot from the side so the u-channel will slide in). I'm off to UK for a vacation and will get back to it in January. I'll post up my success or lack thereof once i get a "round tuit". | ||
