So would the EBC or Lyndall pads be the better choice for the front brake as opposed to the Buell Racing pads? Price between the two is not a deciding factor, just street performance. Ive read that "race" pads might not be the best choice for the street because of heat on the track is not the same on the street so the performance might be diminished on the street.

Well, for my XB I love the Lyndall Gold+ Brake pads. Would recommend them for the 1125R also. Haven't tried them on my 1125R yet, but will when it comes times.

+1 on the Lyndall Gold. I have about 1,500 miles on the front on the 1125R and for street riding these are excellent pads.
I do understand that they fade under racing conditions. But that is here say on my part.

I also have Lyndall Golds on my XBR and I don't like them as much on that bike. The Lyndall's require more lever pressure, where that is no problem in the ZTL2 but you really need to grab a handful on the ZTL.

+1 on the EBC, although I have no experience with the Lydalls. They bedded in really quickly and have great stopping power. They wear quicker than the stockers, but that is to be expected. I just wish I bought 2 sets instead of 1.

I am on a crusade to destroy the good name Lyndalls have on this board. Worst pad ever! I just put on some EBC HH and they make the brake work like a modern disc system instead of the drum like power of the lyndalls. No more squealing, and I actually have stopping power in the first 75% of lever travel. AMAZING! For the record I bleed the brakes every time I change pads so that is not why the Lyndalls sucked.

For your info I have an XB but maybe soon I will have an 1125.

Don't know why you have an issue with the Lyndalls. BEST pads I've ever used. Never had an issue with them on the track either (but then again I wasn't trying to set fastest lap times... I was just working on cornering techniques). There is a reason they're so popular... they WORK! Nice, progressive feedback and more than enough power to easily lift the rear wheel. Best of all, no deposit build up and no front brake pulsing!

No braking power and squealing... sounds like oil contamination.
Bed those brakes, cook 'em in good and enjoy.
Just put a fresh set of OEMs on the rear of my 1125R at 14k miles, they work fine for me.

I loved the Lydall Gold on my XB. I will most likely get them for my 1125R when the time comes.

Lots of good words for EBC and Lydall but no word on the Buell 'racing' pads. Anyone have any thoughts on those?

They're pricey.

Just got in from a weekend at the track. Put on the Buell race pads Friday. After breakin those pads seem a like a giant improvement. I ride a very technical track so you will use the brakes a lot. These pads worked better than stock. Now I need stronger fork springs cause no matter how much I preload the brakes they dive the front end. The local pro suggested springs after seeing the new pads work.

Duggram, is your bike a pre or post 7/7/08 build? Just curious cause there was a spring change...and I was hoping to get your suspension settings from the track. It's alot more difficult if we aren't running the same springs.

Duggram,
Have you tried a touch more compression damping to control the brake dive? I have been adjusting mine by the 1/16th of a turn with good results.
