Has anyone ever been denied a test ride on an 1125R/CR? I was interested in possibly trading in my XB for a CR and wanted to see what all the hype was about. When I tried to arrange a test ride, the dealer denied me until I had signed an intent to buy. I thought this was odd since I test rode an XB from the same dealer! |

They probably had about 12 xb's, and at the moment they may only have a limited # of CR's coming in the near future. Or, your dealer could just be a d!ck. R |

I had the opposite experience. I was looking at the CR after selling an XB9S I owned for five great years. I never mentioned a demo ride, but the salesman quickly garnered my respect when he let me take their 1125R demo out for about a half hour of riding time. The salesman and the friendly/respectful staff helped seal the sale of the bike at the dealership, otherwise I would have been on to another dealership for purchase. |

My local dealer (High Country HD, in CO) pushes test rides. I had just bought a new 09 Uly, so they know I was not in the market for anything. Despite this, they would let me ride nearly anything on the floor and on this particular day they were taking numbers for people wanting to ride the new CR and at least tell all their friends about it. If a dealer wants to sell bikes, they're foolish not to get people on them for a test-run |

Bad Dealer, run away...I'll second that. So you sign an intent to buy then change your mind, what could they really do? ...unless that agreement says you will buy regardless of your ability to finance (don't ask me how I know!) |

^^^^True, but like others said, If you want to sell bikes, then get people hooked with a test ride. It was the reason I bought the XB! I didn't buy my XB from that dealer because we couldn't come to terms on a price. I had to go about 250 miles to another dealer who was willing to meet my price. The local dealer got pissed at me when they called to follow up on what I had decided. I hope this is why they denied me the test ride, and not because they suck! But who knows. I would have never bought a Buell without being encouraged to test ride. Now I've bought 2. |
