Charlie, his better judjment seems to be a lost cause. I have attempted to steer him in the right direction on several issues recently, only to watch him trudge down the other path. "Some men you just can't reach; which, is what we have here today. But, this is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men do." RIP Cool Hand Luke |

Nuts, I understand what your saying, sad. It's an easy fix for something that can kill you.I wonder if he could explain that to his wife and kids when he's laying there and it's to late. So much sentiment over a human sewer line. And he wouldn't even remember the procedure. But I guess that's how you cull the herd. Rethink this one Jack........ |

Alright guys. If it does it again I'll go. I bet I'll never hear the end of the anal jokes from Nuts if I have to get a colonoscopy. . Charlie, You really gotta give him a call and hear some of these stories he tells. I'm telling you the kid has turned into a master story teller. He sets the stage, uses plenty of emotion and when the story reaches its pinnacle he delivers an ending that you never expected. I'm thinking about acting as his agent and seeing if I can get him booked on PBS. Can't decide if we should go with a Mr. Rogers type show or something along the lines of Masterpiece Theatre. |

Jackie, I'm going with the popular vote on this one. Butt... If it's just too much popcorn... (trying to cut back myself. Those hulls can cut a brutha to pieces) Take care of yourself Bro. Nuts might could get a gig opening for Jeff Dunham, being as "animated" as he is. You gotta check out the Christmas special... "Oh, Holy CrAAaaap.." |

Anyone ever made a 20 pound contraption out of wood; then carry said contraption around in the forest looking for someplace to settle it; only to find there are already other 20 pound wooden things where you wanted to put your contraption? Just curious. NUTS |

If a hammer flies through the woods and no one is there to see it but the thrower; did it ever happen? |

Hey Turtlehugger, my Brother-in-law was spending last night sitting with an ill, 170 kilo, Aldabra Totroise. Owned by a private collector and has been in vet care for the last month. Probably has another month to recovery and this a spare no expense kind of owner. Shelled critters valued over 50k have those tendencies! |

Nuts, That is one awesome tortoise right there! I've had the pleasure of spending some quality time with a herd and getting knocked over as they rush you to get their necks scratched. They almost seem to have a personality and act as though they want to interract with their keepers. Good investment too. You can get the youngsters for $1800.00 each and basically add 1000.00 to their value each year. Now that ya'll have a pasture and a barn I think you guys should consider tortoise farming. . |

Its a no go for me Nuts. I am currently enjoying a bout of the flu and to make matters worse I noticed one of my rings got messed up from the fall the other day. Got new ones on order but they won't be here until next week and then I gotta sight in again. Good luck and post up one of those fine stories for all to enjoy. |

Well boys its a little past 5:00 in the a.m. and I just waved goodbye to the last bike I'll ever own. The proud new owner picked her up at 4:15 this morning. And so another chapter of my life closes. I will however be finding comfort at every gun store I can find come Friday. I got a wad of cash to blow and I'm going to do my part to boost the economy by blowing every last penny! |

You better spend it on reloading equipment before they take all the bullets off the shelf. And a lot of "camo-netting" to cover the house to throw off all those"black ops"helicopters looking for illegal gun stashes......... |

Sad news indeed my friend. But you still have the 4-wheeled comfy beast to enjoy. As for the gun thing, I have already been doing my part to boost the economy, along with the rest of the crazed populus. Plus the show is this weekend, and the ol c-card is feelin a little warm in the pocket. p.s.Happy Turkey Day! (Message edited by tank_bueller on November 27, 2008) |

Alright Tank, I picked up a T/C Pro Hunter Stainless in .243 and a Ruger 77/17 in Stainless. Topped em' both with Leupold VXII scopes. I fondled a Bushmaster AR but the more I handled it the more I thought "what am I really gonna do with this thing". My new train of thought is a nice over/under shotgun so I can get back into shooting skeet and sporting clays. Its amazing how hard it is to find something you like when you have the money. I guarantee if I was broke I could find all kinds of stuff . Nuts, Moms not real cool with tomorrow because Cindy is out of town and she'd be strapped with the kids. Looks like the earliest I'll get back out is Monday. Also I won't be able to make the auction Saturday. Dude is supposedly gonna FINALLY show me one of his secret fishing holes. I ain't holding my breath though. Have fun up at the farm! |

Cool, I'm going riding. Huckleberry got a wash yesterday; still had mud and bugs from W.VA in early October. Got my new luggage installed last week as well. NUTS

Nuts, Nice looking ride, ole Huckleberry looks like she's been getting pretty hot a few times. Make sure you keep plenty of real good oil in the ole gal. It's not fun when they don't bring you all the way home. |

Ya know Charlie Huckleberry eats oil pretty good. I just put 1/4 quart in it after this mornings ride. On my trip with Pop it ate 3/4 of a quart in 1k miles. Good thing I have plenty of oil. I'm always afraid to overfill it so I try to keep it at the bottom of the XXXXXXX line. Heated gear is amazing! I bought a vest off a friend for $5 and it was terrific this morning. I think I even burnt myself a little! I'm no masochist but it was a pleasurable kind of burn. It was good to enter 581 from Peters Creek Road and lean into the throttle. Accelerating past 5k in 2nd gear. That always gets the NUTS goin! |

Is it blowing it out or burning it?Any smoke when you start up? 3/4 qt. in a thousand isn't terrible, but Id watch it.What oil are you using? It looks like it has gotten real hot at one time or another. |

My pipes look like that too. It does run pretty freakin hot, especially in the summer. I've lost some oil as well, comparable to Nuts findings. BUT, I did have three seperate leaks. Two before the 1K and one after. No leaks now, though! I just keep an eye on it. |

Changed to Mobil-1 V-twin in both cases after I got back from W-VA. By then, the "seat heater" was welcome, even after I treated the underside of the seat with HD aluminum tape.(It actually helped a-lot) Where's the heat going now?? I guess it's keeping the extra quart of oil and the gallon ziploc tool kit plenty warm.(yep, under the seat) |

No synthetic for Huckleberry just yet, I'm waiting until 10k miles. I changed over to synthetic in the first Uly pretty early and we all know where that went. I'm using Bel-Ray 20w50 and HD Formula Trans in the primary. I think my pipes "blue" due to my habit of cranking it up every few days(in the winter months) and letting it run for about 8 mins.NUTS |

Nuts, Not sure what your trying to wear in? Your rings seated a long time ago.Other than that, the rest is BS.Excessive heat is not your friend(nor excessive cold)Can't figure why you would want a premature wear pattern in your engine. Also I think your excessive heat is from cow trailing up some of the access roads to the parkway or other such climbs that load your engine without sufficient air flow.Synthetic oil is the best thing you can do for your engine and I would say as soon as the rings have seated(500+/-)but that's just me.When you can change oil and immediately feel a change in engine temp. that's got to be a good thing. |
