Well, I have some bad news everyone. Fellow Buell owner and BadWebber "9m9knight" is in bad shape. Among other things, you might remember his thread about selling his Micron exhaust. I contacted Matt and he I had agreed on a price so I sent the money his way. After not hearing back from him for over a week, I decided to send him an email. After not getting a reply to two emails, I then decided to give him a call. The man I spoke to informed me that Matt had recently wrecked his bike and had incurred life-threatening injuries. After getting off the phone with him I googled it and sure enough, he was right. Here is a link to the story: http://www.argusleader.com/article/20081122/NEWS/8 11220322/1001 Not only am I upset that I won't be getting a Micron, but I am deeply saddened to hear that this young man is in such a terrible situation. My thoughts and wishes go out to him and his family during this tough time. Ryan |

I wonder what happened? Took a corner to fast? Matt, let us know what happened, when you feel better. I bet some cager clipped him. They make it sound like weaving in and out of traffic is a bad thing. |

"Microns are disposable human life should not be......" I COMPLETELY agree! I really hope that I didn't sound like I valued the Micron over him. If that was the case, please know that is not how I feel. |

" I really hope that I didn't sound like I valued the Micron over him. If that was the case, please know that is not how I feel."-Christiankid3 I didn't get that impression...as a new rider I hate hearing stories about wrecks...I hope he gets well soon. As for your $, I hope that gets resolved as well. |

"As for your $, I hope that gets resolved as well." Thanks, I hope so too. Whomever I spoke to on the phone, which I assume is Matt's father, said that they would go through the mail and get my money order back to me as soon as possible. I suppose we shall see what happens. |

Keep your chin up Matt. Accidents are life's little reality checks. We all have them and it is what you do with the lesson that will make the difference. Hope you get well soon. |

"I'll live my life they way I want too, and thats on the edge." - 9m9knight 19 Nov 2008 I wanted to remind those here who may have the same outlook that the only thing we have control over is ourselves- and it's very easy to overestimate our own abilities. I sincerely hope that Matt recovers fully, and that some hard lessons are learned. I am still healing myself, and can attest to the challenge he is facing- very possibly as difficult as making Recon. If you are under 25, are riding your first motorcycle, and have ever felt "invincible", please reflect on this situation- it really can happen to you. Hang in there, Matt |

Hang in there Matt, I was young . . . I was fortunate. I only wish you the same Grace that I was granted. Good Luck and a hopefully this lesson will help mold you into the individual you 'proudly' told us you will become. Justin D. Johannes, Omaha |

Prayers and well wishes headed to Matt. I totaled my SuperHawk almost 2 months ago now. I was lucky with only bumps and bruises but I know it could have been much worse. Hopefully he'll be back on two wheels soon with a new found appreciation for our sport. |

Best of luck to you and a speedy recovery too. These stories always fall close to home as I'm sure we all know someone that has been seriously hurt or killed on the two wheelers. Be safe, always. |

I had a serious accident (non-bike) when I was putting my application together for the USMC (though PLC - aviation.) My injuries disqualified me, and though I'm fully healed today, every time I meet one of our countries fine naval aviators I'm filled with sorrow over what could've been. I wish for Matthew's full recovery and hope he doesn't share the same fate as an npq. |

Ugh. You can go to the search page and do a search on his name with "names of authors". Sobering reading, thats for sure. And let me just say I am proud of Badweb for the advice and guidance we were trying to give him... You sure as heck can't say we didn't try... and we did it in a lot of different and constructive ways. Thanks for letting us know ChristianKid. Any badwebbers in the area want to step up and be a point of contact for the family, to let them know they have our support and our prayers, and to find out if there is anything else we can do? |

i heard from the family today; RIP Matt. "Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately Matt passed on early this morning. He fought hard but the injuries were too bad. We are heartbroken that a young life was taken early. Please pray that his Father can find peace that Matt is not hurting anymore. Thank you- Stacy 11/29/2008 2:14 PM CST" (Message edited by sleez on November 29, 2008) |

Godspeed Matt. I'm very sad to hear this horrible news. It's a very stark reminder that each time we throw a leg over our bikes the consequences can effect not only us, but all those who know us. Very very sad. I'll be praying for this family. |
