Sure enough I forgot to get one of those little tools for loosening up the axle. Now here I am on T-day wanting to replace my front brake pads. Of course I can wait till Cycle Gear opens tomorrow to get one. But I was planing to get an early start tomorrow on the drive down to Arroyo Seco Raceway. So, does anyone have a suggestion on how to remove the front axle without the special little tool? |

Got a bolt that has a head big enough to just about fit properly? Maybe a 5/8 or 3/4 shank bolt? If the head fits just double nut the threads to lock it and use a wrench to get that bad boy out. |

I'm not kidding & it is hilarious. Arroyo Seco is in southwest New Mexico. The track owner has raced most of his life and really is good. He's the main school instructor. Its two days of classroom and track time. The instructors, all experts, follow the students with video cameras mounted. Then ur in the classroom reviewing. I think its a steal at $350. |

Forgot to mention that the track owner, Roger Heemsbergren, held the track record till a few weeks ago when big time AMA rider Chris Peris set a new one. And Doug Chandler used to bring his son to Arroyo to learn road racing. The place is great for safe racing. |

Don't forget to loosen the pinch bolts before you go after the axle. When you get in a rush, it can happen.....don't ask how I know! |

It also helps to read the manual, step by step before you get into a rush. Don't ask... |
