hey guys i recently bought an xb12r and to my surprise i had a hard time keeping up with my friends yzf-r6, to make a long story short she handles better but he has more power. Does anyone know of any good performance upgrades out there. |

if ur tring to keep up, above 70ish mph..ur not going to keep up to well, those bikes are design to go fast, that and there revs help alot imo.. but to answer ur question, intake, exhuast, ecm programmed. i think that about covers it..now from there, well u got alot of opinions on exhuast.. |

yea this bike is no faster than a 600 on the strait drags, but IMO it works well everywhere else, rock steady |

...a 600 will smoke you. don't even try it. you might get a good start, but you'll soon be passed. a turbo kit is the way to go..... when they're available. |

but tell a 600 to pull a 5mph wheelie and ride it thru at 15mph!...his bike would stall for sure! Not to mention his bike is useless for 90% of the riding he does i'm sure |

Learn to ride, you won't have issues keeping up then. But any monkey can go fast in a straight line. |

Well put Krueger, why would you ever play at a disadvantage? I like to put them at the disadvantage in tight places and best of all twisties. Most of those guys are young and still trying to learn to ride in a straight line. Many times after I give them a demo and take my helmet off they say " damn old man you ride the sh---t out of that bike". I ride naked and play dirty. Don't sound right, y'all know what I mean. |

Track days and riding lessons. I had a race pipe, stock ecm and K&N filter, running with a guy on a 05 R6 race prepped at Barber, he would just barely pull on me in the long straights, I carried plenty more corner speed and got the jump leaving the turn, he would get a nudge ahead at the end of the straight. The Buell will hang just fine with a good rider. That said I have been keeping an eye out for a cheap 06+ GSXR750 for a track bike, cuz 100mph power wheelies leaving turns is fun! |

It is only a thought right now. Although I have been watching WERA and it looks like the 9 may be allowed in LWT so I may just go that route. Besides I have a TON of spare parts, of course if I sold them I could buy a freaking bike... |
